I'm not having a go at those who have difficulty with spelling, but it is so common place here that I find I have to look twice when something is spelled correctly.

I came across a profile that spelled time waster correctly and it looked wrong .

To turned on to read their message back mostly.

With auto correct you shouldn't get many mistakes, kinder.

Try typing a dirty word then just use auto correct by pressing just the middle button. It's funny seeing what you come up with!

As long as I can read it, I'm fine, with 2 dyslexic brothers, I've grown up with phonetic spelling, there's not much I can't read. I'm certainly not here to make judgements on folk based on their ability to write the English language.

However spotlighting others mistakes or literacy skills is a little uncalled for. Just move on...We're all work in progress.

For those like me with dyslexia, its not just about spelling. I constantly write sentences that are difficult to read because while i can correct using spell check, I am often not typing words like "the", "a" etc.

I agree that poorly written English is usually a sign lack of effort in most cases.

But my biggest hate is people seem it necessary TO WRITE IN ALL CAPS!

Tell you what bugs me and this is not a dig at you op but why are people so hung up on bad spelling? It's not the end of the world and you can tell if the person struggles with spelling or is just lazy.

I struggle with my spelling and mostly auto correct does not help cos if you have no clue as to how to spell the word in the first place it rarely gives you the correct word let alone the correct spelling. I've often had to completely restructure whole sentences cos auto correct hasn't helped me.

And as for text speak.....well sometimes it's easier for me to use text speak and abbreviations if my fingers are hurting.

And breathe........:D

Live and let live. As long as its readable.

Tiny keyboards on screen and big thick fingers (what did you think i was going to say?) dont make for easy spellings.

I think a lot for me has using a small screened mobile at its core - typing but struggling to see the results - and then failing to check appropriately - so tools and user fails.

With fab being used covertly a lot, this likely encourages quick posting too.

Dirtyprettythings , I read about this the other day , that if the first and last letters of a word are correct it doesn't matter what order the rest of the letters are in, your brain will still be able to understand the words.

Regarding spelling, some people are great at it , some not so much and some spell phonetically.

I n the right context. There is a word discrete too.

Which highlights that sometimes there is importance in spelling and grammar, in the right place/time.

I don't particularly worry about it, but I certainly wouldn't make an issue about those who use it as a screening preference either.

That's my car over their. Arghhh no! That's my car over there!

I really wish I hadn't read this thread, I can feel my piss boil

I'm with you, I delete and block for poor spelling and grammar

Yes it's a great filter. I block/ put notes on profile if someone is critical of others spelling

good for you, after all we all have our preferences

What if someone's missed a capital letter or full stop for instance, Is that considered bad grammar or spelling and worthy of being blocked?

I dont block people for bad spelling etc. I block people for being critical of how others spell."

so you keep saying!

"I'm not having a go at those who have difficulty with spelling, but it is so common place here that I find I have to look twice when something is spelled correctly.

I came across a profile that spelled time waster correctly and it looked wrong .

The most common one I see is on verifications and doesn't come up on spell check!

About 60% of fab would 'defiantly' recommend someone, apparently! "

I can't see what's wrong with that word? Xx

"Poor spelling makes you normal because I'm sure that even brilliant spellers get it wrong at times

Plus there's a big difference to one word incorrectly spelt in three paragraphs, to every other word being spelt wrong in once sentence.

One*

See? Point proven Bet your a great laugh on a night out "

Ha that made me laugh...reading above...was thinking the same

What people actually block others for poor spelling?

What is this fucking school?

Seriously?...given people access the site from multi-platform devices these days and lot of those devices actually have corrective software...as most normal people would realise when using devices...each to their own...but seems a very negative way of seeing people.. judging someone for spelling how sad

People have the right to filter out others by any means they want. I have been contacted by guys who write how they talk (which is slightly off tangent re spelling), this has put me off.

Yes everyone has that right! However I'm sure you can get this in the vanilla world. What I'm saying is spelling, way people write etc has no bearing on how they will be in person...nor so how good they will be at plesuring you...or being kinky..the list is endless. Say for instance in the porn industry... most of the women (not all, but most) and most of the men...are any of them going to be good spellers?

I guess perhaps it seems your truly looking for someone to stimulate your mind and your body or you in turn them. Good luck with that one perhaps the chaps your talking about don't grasp tech or social media platforms quite as well as you?

It just seems you could actually miss out...the ride? ...the kink?...the wild time of your life. Simply because the chap was....

For me it's not so much misspellung its using the wrong word. Try ...

"They didn't NO that THERE problem would EFFECT the meet."

We don't read phonetically to ourselves so when the brain sees "NO" it thinks 'negative'. Then realises it does not make sence and goes back to see what should be there. "Knoq" in context is less confusing as it is obviously a typing error.
