Sedgefield

it's a very tight street circuit so if Hamilton gets away in the lead it should be a lights to flag win

They changed the red flag rules this year didn't they? Don't they reform the grid in the order they were running and have a standing start again?

Not sure that F1 cars should really run on street tracks, there are better suited cars for tight tracks that can cope with debris etc.

That tantrum could cost him, especially on a safety car lap.

Running into Hamilton was hard to say whether Hamilton had brake tested him or whether he just wasn't paying attention.

To pull alongside and ram into the Mercedes should get him disqualified.

I'm no Hamilton fan, I bet the Hamilton fans will be calling for a ban.

Wondering if Vettel actually went in front of Hamilton? If he did, then that's overtaking under a safety car......drive through penalty

Gosport

I think Vettel forgot which racing format he was in and suddenly thought he was in super stock or even the bumper cars at the fair.

I can't see how the race marshalls could ignore the second part of the incident as that was clearly intentional.

He gave the place back, plus as Hamilton had been involved in an incident, overtaking under a safety car is the least of Vettel's worries.

The second impact was clearly a deliberate collision, absolutely u acceptable behaviour for an F1 driver, let alone a multiple world champion. He deserves to have an example made of him. If a rookie did that, he would get a penalty, for a veteran to do it he deserves to be dealt with severely.

10 sec penalty to Vettel for dangerous driving and he wants to know when it happened. He got off lightly.

Very few would have bet on that top 3, would have been Hamilton by 20 seconds if it wasn't for bad luck on the headrest, and worse luck on the rejoin position. But all in all a good race to watch.

Well these days the podium flags are digital. Always used to love an odd podium to see what happened if they didn't have a flag for a driver never expected to reach the podium.

Never happened, the closest was probably when Olivier Panis won in Monaco, I bet there was a frantic rummage through some cupboards for a Tricolor.

Reminiscent of Schumacher driving into Damon Hill he should have been disqualified

I thought this was far worse. In mitigation for Schumacher, his car was terminally damaged and the championship depended on Hill scoring a point. He really had nothing to loose and was being tactical.

Vettel was simply having a tantrum, jeopardizing the safety of himself and fellow competitors.

It may have been a low speed impact, but debris could have caused a puncture on any of the cars leading to a big high speed impact on the straight.

Personally if I had been in Charlie's position Hamilton would have had a penalty for dangerous driving and Vettel would have been given the black flag.

Doncaster

I've never been a fan of street circuits, however Baku has provided an outstanding race this season... as regards Ham Vs Seb, Ham did not brake test (proven by telemetry traces provided by Merc to the stewards) and Seb did turn into Ham immediately before the wheel bump (again proven by traces provided by Ferrari to the stewards) he was caught out by trying to keep up with Ham at the restart and was understandably pissed off.. but you can not just ram another car, I think he got off lightly with a 10 Sec stop n go... fantastic drive by Bottas, and Stroll and excellent drive by Riciardo... extremely refreshing to see the podium shaken up a bit..
