I'm feeling bereft after my phone fell out of my bra ... straight down the toilet!

A year ago the same phone was killed off when a water bottle leaked in my bag.

Hands up - who else has drowned their phone?!

I got insanely lucky once, dropped mine into a puddle. The case and screen protectors I had on kept most of the water out and I was able to power it down and dry it. It's a sinking feeling when you watch it fall in slow motion towards its near inevitable doom.

Not drowned but dropped it on the front drive and killed the screen. Now use toughened glass screen protection and my phones water proof also.

I don't drown phones. I bludgeon them occasionally.

My 2yo nephew fell in a lake when I was babysitting. (Worst babysitter ever!) jumped in to fish him out with my phone in my pocket.

Goodbye iPhone 6. Never worked again. Little guy was fine though but cost me £500 for a new phone.

I had a phone die a few years ago after a 200 mile bike ride. It rained for the whole day and even though the phone was wrapped in a plastic bag, it still got drowned.

The coiled lead between the handset and cradle eliminates such problems for me....

I dropped my phone down the toilet, it fell out of my back pocket, however it did not die, I stuck it in a tub of dried rice for 3 days and it lived!

Mrs N did the exact same thing, the phone was rendered useless. Did exactly the same thing a week later with the replacement phone.

Have drowned a few. Also left it on the roof of my car and saw it fly onto the road when I went round the roundabout. Was like Russian roulette trying to get it back x

About 5 years ago I did the 'down the toilet thing' with my old iPhone and then the 'bag of rice thing' which did, after about 3 days, actually work! I've had a few near misses since however I'm a nightmare for dropping my phone - probably once or twice a month at least. Thank God for tempered glass screen savers that tend to take the brunt and get broken while my actual screen has somehow remained intact!

Yes .. in a plastic holder ... apparently waterproof holder but i was swimming and didnt notice it getting wet. The first time i have ever got my phone wet and almost beyond repair. Took it to a repair place in Thailand as i was on a backpacking holiday and they fixed it for £20. It works perfectly but i had gone without a phone for about 4 or 5 days.. it was excrutiating.

If you act fast it shouldn't cause any damage, dry it off as best you an then put it in a bowl of dry rice and then stick on top of a hot radiator, the water will evaporate out and the rice soaks it up. I've used that trick several times and no damage causedto the phone.

I realised mine was in the washing machine 15 minutes into the cycle

Took apart and then put in rice and kept warm

Fine after 48 hours

...Up on the Downs

Three times.....four if you count putting my current one in the wash a couple of weeks ago - but I just rescued that in the nick of time after one rotation of a water filled drum!

I dried it off immediately and stood it up in the sun. Then put it in rice for 48 hrs in the airing cupboard.

I was incredibly lucky;: it's unaffected by its misadventure!

Feeling incredibly lucky!
