Other than Paul McCartney and John Entwistle, I haven't heard of the rest as listed above.

I must have had a sheltered life, or I must be getting old!!

DOH! OAP Home looks likely

As one of similar vintage I think it must be a sheltered life.

My favourites are

Jaco Pastorious

Victor Wooten (Flecktones as well as many collaborations and teaching)

Jeff Berlin

Pino Palladino (who I've met)

Also, though double as opposed to electric bass:

Edgar Meyer

Have you heard of youtube? I find it wonderful for finding new names that hadn't already made my radar.

Out of interest did tbe top 5 guitar players have me in it - if not the whole post was meaningless and wrong!!!!

Hmmm bass players ....

Steve Harris - Maiden , Geddy Lee - Rush, Baldy Tony ( plays the stick bass can't remember his surname), Mike Dirnst from Green Day, Randy Jackson - actually a mustard bass player if a dodgy judge on American idol !!

There's loads more ..... Can't think at this time of tbe morning - I should still be working my way through a line of taut bodied groupies at this time of day - think they all went to the wrong hotel!

Glad to see Lammy got a mention, he is a very very under-rated bassist.

You have to really listen though... particularly to the Hawkwind (Space Ritual) stuff.
