I'm walking my dog at 6am and 10pm while the heat is like this too hot for walks at normal times. Also been putting ice cubes in his water bowl as well.

I half fill the water dish,then freeze it over night. Then top it up with cold water in the morning

I walk mine early morning late night,take water with me. Let him out in the garden if there's shade . Fan on for him loads of water I've seen so many people walking their dog down the town and leaving them outside shops for ages in the sun.....not right

Agree is shocking - saw someone yesterday out at 1pm and you could tell the dog was suffering!

Got a french bulldog so I take out at 6.30am and 9pm when it's cooler

My dogs hate ice in their water. They scoop out the cubes and leave them to melt on the kitchen floor.

I've been walking them at their normal times. Giving them more water. Letting them enjoy themselves. Most of the dogs I've seen outside in the park have been at reasonable hours. People around me have been fine

Ours has been scoffing ice lollies with the kids, I'm also walking him early & late..

My dogs are wiped out by it all. They can come and go as they please in the garden spending most of the time panting in the shade or chasing any cats that come by.

They love ice cubes and playing around the sprinkler when it gets too much.

I don't walk them at all in this heat until about 22:00 at night.

Bit of a todo on a local face ache page last night about this.

Someone said they'd seen a woman walking her dog during the heat.

It was suggested the woman may not be aware that it was bad for her dog

I was quick to point out that ignorance is no excuse for animal cruelty.

I took ours at just after 8 and been feeding him ice pops. He's got ice in his water. Will take him out again later tonight.

If you can't put your hand on the ground and hold it for 10 seconds you shouldn't be walking your dog.

Guide dogs have very strict rules for hot days so I apply them to our dog.

Change drinking water at least twice a day in hot weather and wash the bowl each time.
