"We had nice neighbours until a couple of years ago. 70 year old woman moves in and takes down the party hedge in between our 2 properties. We agree to her offer of a surveyor, who agrees with our claim, but she then marks the boundary herself into our property, before he does, He comes out to remark it, she ignores our letters of mediation, instead moves the surveyors pegs and strings further into our property, whilst causing more criminal damage to the remaining natural border, with her ex while playing loud intimating music and shouting intimidating remarks. We send our letter before action and report her to the police for anti-social behaviour. Several days later, she puts up her fence and then her police friends or family in uniform come knocking on my door (how I know this, is that she shouted at me that she had 2 family members in the police, whilst I was trying to talk to her, as she was uprooting the hedge). Thinking they're there for our complaint, I let them in, only for them to start claiming that she made complaints against us and they start shouting at me to stop sending letters and leave her alone! I ring 101 afterwards to find out there's no record of their attendance nor these so-called complaints! Not only trying to deal with a boundary dispute, I'm having to write a complaint letter to the police, as these officers are part of my local team. I never knew neighbour disputes could be so stressful and how we managed to keep calm and follow our legal advisors' advice without ending up in the funny farm, I don't know! " that's awful!

"Our previous neighbours were a guy and his alcoholic wife. He had "issues" and would throw things at the side wall of our house (which facec his side door) including dog shit. He threw dog shit on to our lawn, left nails behind the rear wheels of our cars so they punctured when we reversec out. His wife would spend entire weekends d*unk playing country and western and singing along, If I never hear Islands in The Stream again it'll be too soon. She would often walk into a cupboard door and excused his aggressive behaviour by telling me "that's why I love him". When the for sale board went up outside their house we shouted hallelujah!" I bet that was stressful for you, too. It's a shame that people just can't be respectful and considerate to their neighbours sometimes. Watching programmes like 'Neighbours from hell', I used to think, why can't they just sit down and sort it out amicably? Trouble is, it doesn't work, when the other party doesn't follow suit and just doesn't care.
