I'm right aren't I!?

No problem with dogs. But not on beaches. There's plenty of other places to go.

Especially if you're a dirty cunt who doesn't clean up when it shits where kids are playing.

#WRONG!!!!!

I'd like to take my dogs to the sea; I think they would love it. The fact they could use the beach as a toilet is what is putting me off. Even clearing up after them could leave some residue behind. I'd want to disinfect and dig the top sand over.

If it's a dog friendly beach and I have my dogs then they are going on the beach will always clean up after the dog and provide bags to those I see who don't. Happily shaming them into cleaning it up.

My dogs love the sea.

Near hear there's a section of the main beach you can't take dogs on but further down where it's less popular you can take dogs, that's a fair solution.

I take my dogs to the beach always have done in 20 years.

Certain parts of Aberdeen beach have no dog signs and some people do t like dogs or r sca_ed of them so I dont mind This, saves me trying to get my over friendly mutt back if someone starts screaming bit I always pick up after them and usually have my grandkids with me.

However some human beings throw glass bottles/litter on the beach and 1 of my old English sheepdogs cut his paw on glass left by some cretin. X

Problem with that is the dog is only doing what comes naturally to it it does not understand boundaries. My dogs chase cats that come into their garden all the time. I decided that whilst I can't do anything about that I added an extra foot to the fence to stop them carrying on the chase.

The Neighbours should hang their heads and do more. I feel for you it's not the same but when my dog was attacked on his lead in the street by another I went mad at the owners and all they got was a slap on the wrist.

Unless it's people nobody seems to care. The Hunt here regularly kill cats by accident.

Could you suggest they secure the boundary between your gardens so their dog can't get in? Just say you regularly put slug pellets and killer down that is harmful to animals (you don't have to actually do it) and say you'd hate for their dog to get harmed by being where it shouldn't be...

I think children should be band from the beach rather than dogs... being noisy, dropping sticky litter, splashing in the sea. Dogs are far better to have on a beach !

But I think as long as dog owners clear up after their hounds then it is fine, if not I find calling them out or catapulting the offending item works well.

Plenty of dog free beaches during the high season for those who are so disgusted.

You are aware that we pump thousands of tonnes of sewage into the sea right? That dogs foul football pitches and playing fields daily? That children piss in swimming pools daily?

Now don't get me wrong - ALL dog owners should clean up properly after their pets and anyone who doesn't should be fined (as per the law). If it is the health and safety of kids that you are concerned about then there are more pressing issues to deal with than dogs on beeches.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

I think frightened is probably more accurate than annoyed. I would be. It's not on that a family can't enjoy their own garden for fear of a neighbours pet entering it. Sorry Dan.

Dogs on beaches are fine.

I'd rather a dog on the beach than on the pavement.

Good dog owners like clean beaches too and the beach is salt washed each night.

As long as they pick up after pooch there's no harm.

I love watching dog's bound over waves.

I love dogs full stop really.

Humans are good too.

You won't get anywhere reporting it but by all means give it a go!.

Its a dog jumping over a fence doing what dogs do.

Owners are often tits unfortunately which leads the dog to be a tit (they mimic they're owners personalities sadly).

Let's concentrate on the worst offenders first before worrying about dog crap.

Now stroll down to your local beach after a nice day like today and you'll see which creature is really causing the problem coz there mess won't bi degrade for a hund_ed years (by the way most plastics are toxic as well when they do).

If you'd said let's ban humans from the beach I'd be at least giving you some support but I'm afraid on the grand scale of things a dog crapping is the very very least of our problems

"Problem with that is the dog is only doing what comes naturally to it it does not understand boundaries.

Well that's the thing I have children here and I don't know if it would seriously attack myself or them,I just know it scares the life out of me. I'm going to keep a spade out if I'm at the other end of the garden so I can splatter it's head if it gets agressive.

Get those plastic fence spike things so his paws won't get purchase. I have them and cats laugh at them so they can get over them in a hurry. The dog won't get inju_ed aside from a little pricking and it may think twice.

Funnily enough my sister has just said the same thing,I'll check them out thankyou. At this stage I don't care if the dog get's inju_ed,my children's safety is more important to me..

If it annoys you that much there is ways and means of making it less bothersome in the future?

I think frightened is probably more accurate than annoyed. I would be. It's not on that a family can't enjoy their own garden for fear of a neighbours pet entering it. If it's killed a cat I'd be bloody nervous with kids around. I'd report it again sweetie. Your garden is for you to relax and enjoy, not be in fear of x.

You won't get anywhere reporting it but by all means give it a go!.

Its a dog jumping over a fence doing what dogs do.

Owners are often tits unfortunately which leads the dog to be a tit (they mimic they're owners personalities sadly)."

It's not just a case of it getting in my garden, the dog mauled my cat to death while I watched it happen and wasn't able to do anything until I got the neighbour but by then then she was dead. I'm sca_ed of it I don't know if it will attack myself or my children,it's not exactly a nice cute cuddly dog!

"To be honest people make more bloody mess than most dogs. Most dog owners are responsible and what the hell is it with leaving dirty nappies. Ive seen this on beaches and country"

I agree with this. Ive seen far more rubbish and dirt from people than I ever have from dogs. The majority of dog owners Ive seen on beaches care and control their dogs

Saw an interesting meme recently. One half was a picture of a dog with a caption sayong basically that it's not allowed on the beach because of the mess it makes, the other half was the state of our beaches in Southend after all the visitors had been on a hot day - and the state they'd left our beaches in.

Let the dogs on the beach and ban the people I say.

In the sea, not on beaches where we can tread in it. People not clearing up dog poop is a problem as much as not clearing up litter.

Dogs on beaches if they clean up their poop. I wouldn't particularly like to sit on a patch of dog wee either, and that also stands in parks too.

I totally agree. I think that dogs should be banned from the beach during the summer.

The dog mess is disgusting and owners are not responsible enough to think that some people are sca_ed of dogs, particularly larger ones.

I was almost attacked by a large alsation when I was a young girl.

The irresponsible owner had left it roam free. If it wasn't for my grandmother and 2 other quick thinking adults pulling it away it would have attacked me.

I therefore have a big prob with large dogs and I feel unsafe if they are allowed to run free on the beach where I am trying to relax.

The big difference being that if I am at the beach, It is likely that I am trying to relax. Therefore it is likely that I will be sitting or lying down and therefore I am more vulnerable than I would be otherwise. In usual situations like the high street, I can avoid any potentially unsafe dogs by crossing the street, running away etc. Also dogs on the high street or shopping centres are more likely to be on leads or at least with their owners whereas dogs on a beach are more likely to be allowed to run free.

Of course I realise that I can't avoid them completely, but It can be avoided and kept to a minimum.

I don't think that they should be allowed in a place where people, especially young children may be playing or trying to relax.

No OP, you're wrong. Have seen so many "responsible" humans who would complain that dogs / horses are on the beach then go and let their kids shit in a freshly dug hole or bury nappies, leave their litter, have "fun" smashing bottles and then leaving all their litter behind from their picnic. In hindsight, maybe keeping animals away from where humans go would be better for their health.

.

Biodegradable plastics can often mean plastics made from petroleum that break down by light of oxygen, in a landfill they don't really break down.

Look for bio plastic bags instead which tend to be made from corn starch and alike, they break down much easier and are compositble unlike biodegraded plastics
