"If you were in a riot situation, would you go for jewellery, clothes or electrical goods? "

depends why we're rioting?

if it was a riot against the system of poverty that denies people this stuff but perpetuates their want for it by telling them they need it via advertising then i'd be tempted to.

if we were rioting for workers rights then i'd feel hypocritical taking away someone else product of labour by stealing it. but i'd have no problem smashing up corporate businesses or national symbols based on what/who has overtaken the market using poor wages, poor workers rights, and government help.

Neither really help.

One hits the wrong people, and the other just gets the "establishment" more defensive.

We need a revolution, but one of minds and activism, not violence.

activism can be violence also. it might seem extreme what if your people/activists are at such a disadvantage that violence is the only way?

peaceful protest might be the most preferential way, but what if that doesn't work? do you just try to stop change, be patient and wait for those in power to care? no, you don't. if we did we'd still have no rights except to be cattle for the oligarchy.

anyway there was no riots, some mild violence but most of the grenfell protesters have gone home. so all is good for now.

i think May is gonna have to do something about this, something to reassure her people that they are given a shit about. they are right to be angry.

Yeah there is enough tension in the air in ken/chelsea plus its full of the posh shops.

Make it quick though because after 2011 riots its one lesson the government did learn and they will nip it in the bud quickly this time.

In our country it's not necessary. The tools are there to change it all, without recourse to violence.

If people came together and created a different political movement, and it was supported. That would have more chance of making real change than a few idiot smashing things up...

No, i was predicting a riot because of an idiotic "community leader" who was basically telling them that they should "show the government how angry they are". High temps as the weather forecast is hot! No-one riots when it rains.

But the behaviour and immediate demands expounded by some of those protesters is unreasonable at this stage of events appears contrived ....

In violent times, you shouldn't have to sell your soul

In black and white, they really really ought to know

Those one track minds that took you for a working boy

Kiss them goodbye, you shouldn't have to jump for joy

You shouldn't have to jump for joy

Shout, shout, let it all out, these are the things I can do without

Come on, I'm talking to you, come on

Shout, shout, let it all out (let it all out)

These are the things I can do without

Come on, I'm talking to you, come on

And when you've taken down your guard

If I could change your mind, I'd really love to break your heart

I'd really love to break your heart

Shout, shout, let it all out, these are the things I can do without

Come on, I'm talking to you, come on

They gave you life, and in return you gave them hell

As cold as ice, I hope we live to tell the tale

I hope we live to tell the tale

Shout, shout, let it all out, these are the things I can do without

Come on, I'm talking to you, come on

Anyone else find it odd that these people get aggressive, scream to the press and government that this "atrocity to society" is in inhuman and needs immediate action. Yet mass murder in the streets has not brought this multi ethnic community out on the streets in any similar way?

The disaster is being used as an excuse to be lawless for their own pleasure. How does closing a town hall, which is trying to home people,(whilst masking your face) help??

They are demanding to be rehoused immediately in the same borough; the most expensive real estate in the country and they are not forking out the £1,000 a week each for the rehousing

Where on Earth should the Council find housing there immediately for 500 people? And why do they need to live next to the Palaces?

Rehouse them in Luton or Hull where there is housing available. Or they can rent privately in that high value real estate borough

At what was storming the Council building whilst wearing masks about?
