What end of year presents would teachers really like off their students?

Just wondering if there's any teachers out there who could give me useful ideas for what to get my daughter's teacher for end of term present.

depends on the age of the children - when our kids left Junior school we got some picture art printed using the logo of the school and all the kids first names in the class and put it in a frame.

Wine, chocolates, bath bombs - every day things are usual x

When my youngest was in primary school, all the parents clubbed together to buy M&S vouchers.

If each child who gave a box of chocs or a bunch of flowers (at £5 a go, roughly) put the money towards the vouchers, the teacher/s would have a great present. Then they can choose their own present

Back in my day that would be some leather elbow patches which match t and corduroy or a pouch of St Bruno ready rub.....

I want to get something personal from my youngest to his teacher (they had a whip round the parents for flowers for his previous teacher last year) but this teacher has been so pro-active in getting him help and support for his Dyspraxia that it makes me feel a bit tearful how much patience she has and effort she has put into him.

For my teachers, the end of term Friday was their present. They got to kick us all out of school for the summer.

The reward of teaching can not be measured in material gifts .....

In all honesty the greatest gift I think anyone can give a teacher is a hand written letter explaining what they have meant too you over the years ....

That to me would be something to treasure .....

My daughter with my help has been making a collage of pictures and snippets of work for her teacher. She ia leaving junior school this year.

She has also made her favourite teacher a bookmark.

Teachers work damn hard and often through holidays are still in school running revision sessions, they work long hours and have a nightmare with some of the badly behaved kids nowadays. I think they are worthy of a present, a large bottle of alcohol!

Any time the high street can make ££s it becomes a 'thing'.

We have the Black Friday sales now, last I looked this was still Britain not the 51st State.

my son at the end of primary school gave his teacher some white and red potatoes he had grown - they had been doing growth as a project so he thought it was appropriate - she couldnt stop smiling as it was so personal and useful - and as nice as flowers and chox are when multiplied by 30 is a hell of a lot -

I agree with Soxy.

Are any of you aware that teachers would be in trouble if a gift over a certain amount was given to them ?

They have to declare gifts that could be misconstrued as 'currying favour'

No one really wants the 'stuff' ...... tho a kind word/ letter / card would go a long way.

When I was teaching I used to get flowers, chocolates and wine.

I liked it when I got things made by the children. I had a friendship bracelet made for me, I still have it.

Also a picture frame with all the children and date on.

One of mine made a present with his mum, I have kept that. Depends where you work but one child once came in and said Don't bother saying neither cos you're getting one- wine or chocolate?
