A young man has been sentenced to death in Pakistan for posting disrespectful posts about Mohammed and his wife's on Facebook . Anyone seen it on the BBC or UK media outlets ?

In China, if they trace your social media account as one that has disseminated disrespectful info/ opinions about the government, and it gets shared over 50 times, you can get arrested.

Also with so many Chinese nationals working or being educated abroad the authority's go to great efforts to remind their people they are still being watched. Exposure to content not permitted within China is a huge threat to the regime.

We used to do the same sort of thing ourselves during the 1600's etc. If you slagged off the king, you were in trouble! Its just standard behaviour. Let's not judge developing countries on our high standards as they wallow in the mire.

High standards indeed! If a foreign country doesn't have so called democracy or a head of government that's a western puppet.

The best thing to do, is bomb the country. Starting a war that results in the death of hundreds of thousands of men, women and children. And steal the country's resources like oil etc, whilst they're at it.

I agree, those are exceptionally high standards. There would be millions more people alive today, if you kept those high standards to yourself.

Let's keep it real. Those draconian laws are barbaric but some of the things western governments do, is a million times worse.

is it lower than dropping cluster munitions painted the same colour as the food parcels being also dropped..

is it lower than using depleted uranium..

hundreds of children daily dying of a lack of affordable medicines or clean water..

is it lower than the historical lows that have occurred in other parts of the planet at different times in the name of 'progress' or religious conversion..

i get what your saying and one life lost is not good..

Most crimes were death by beheading.

Few were stoneing.

This made me laugh tho.

First theft (right hand chopped off)

Second theft (left foot chopped off)

Third theft ( left hand chopped off)

Fourth theft (right foot chopped off)

Fifth theft (death)

Have to be a genious to steal five times

Pakistan is Northern Ireland, its a construct of religious partition , ran by the military who have grand designs on rule by theocracy.. Same with Bangladesh, these places haven't got better with partition but slowly sank in the mire of religious dogma
