I wonder if an English takeaway would 'take off'. Imagine ordering tattie pot, or a nice full sunday roast, bangers and mash etc etc !!! Followed by a ruddy geet big ginger pudden and custard!

"I wonder if an English takeaway would 'take off'. Imagine ordering tattie pot, or a nice full sunday roast, bangers and mash etc etc !!! Followed by a ruddy geet big ginger pudden and custard!"

My family are just back from their holidays and my son wanted nothing but a fish supper or tatties mince and doughballs.

I reckon it would be a hit for a take-away.

Yeah there are traditional places that sell those dishes exclusively and also fish and chips but I was thinking of a complete menu like a chinese/indian takeaway.

Hello can I have liver and bacon with gravy please? Do you want that with chips mashed or sauted?

The reason that British Takeaway wouldn't work as easily as Indian is that most Indian dishes involve a large degree of pre cooking....hence they can be knocked up so quickly.

All chicken and Lamb is pre cooked every morning, the rice is pre cooked, most dishes use a 'Base Gravy' that is pre cooked.

Onion Bhajis are pre cooked and fried off for a minute when ordered....

Not so easy with many traditional British dishes I should imagine?

Not many I can think of that can't be prepared in advance. All the veg for starters. Things like Hot pot, sausages and onions, casseroles, pies, shepherds pie, etc all can be precooked and heated. Commercial ovens can cook a yorkshire pud in 3 mins.

An irish stew is just a curry without the spices....
