I get sent loads of scientific research and studies but recently this rose to the top of the crank pile.

A Rita Strakosha, claims to have M.P.S. degree in Clinical Psychology from Albanian University published study claiming the following.

Apparently, consuming sugary foods, alcohol and large amounts of high glycemic index foods and fat, or eating an imbalanced diet can turn you gay or transgender..

It also claims if you keep to a healthy diet it will prevent those gay urges...

This all sounds like crackpot stuff... What do you think.... ?

However

Talking specifically about the male gender it is indeed correct that bad food choices will affect hormone levels and that it is plausible that both testosterone could reduce and oestrogen could increased

Now whether hormone imbalances have any impact upon sexuality or sexual desire I have no idea but I guess it is not unreasonable to speculate that if the hormone imbalances can feminise the body , that it could feminise the brain ?

However I will reiterate I have seen zero evidence to substantiate the above speculation and I'd think it statistically doubtful

actually, she doesn't say diet is only responsible and her study (which is freely available online) does actually seem kind of reasonable. she goes into a lot of detail, citing many sources to back herself up. it does mention diet but not that it causes someone to be gay, but that it is a factor in socities that can affect this. and like i said she makes a reasonable case. the media just turned this into a farce and definitely misquoted her as chicken nuggets are not mentioned at all.

unfortunately she uses therapy in the title, kind of hinting that it is abnormal to be gay. the therapy here applies to either accepting yourself as normal for being gay but does also go into changing your partner preference -and for this last reason i do think people are taking the piss but if you read the whole article it makes for interesting reading and although i am sceptical myself she does seem to have been studying this for the reason of relieving psychological distress is some gay people. i can see why the study (and it's results) would cause gay people some distress/insult also, especially if they have no distress from being gay previous to reading this.
