Wanstead attack

Iceland, but Aldi is closer..

In east London yesterday morning, a woman was attacked by 3 other women whilst on her way to work.

She was punched and kicked by all 3, who apparently we're shouting about the Koran and Allah. One attacker then produced a knife and attacked her with it.

The woman was cut on her arm before the attackers fled the scene. Police were informed and the lady taken to hospital.

It is not being treated as terrorist related.

Ok, does that mean women with a knife aren't terrorists?

Has there been a public explanation as to why it isn't defined as an act of terror under the UK Terrorism Act 2000?

Perhaps we don't have the full information.

your imagination

An act of terror is an incident designed to incite mass panic. What you are describing is an assault on an individual (however heinous), and a vicious hate crime, but wouldn't come under the definition of terrorism.

We can assume anything we like without knowing facts.

If the police say it's not terror related I imagine it's because they have evidence it's something else.

If they think it might be terrorism but aren't sure they say it's being investigated as...

It's not that difficult to understand is it?

Wow it's 2017 and women still can't be terrorists. We shouldn't stand for this inequality

NW London

I think terrorism relates more to an attack aimed a group of people rather than one person.

Still horrible though.

Sheffield

Internet says:

The United Kingdom's Terrorism Act 2000 defined terrorism as follows:

(1) In this Act "terrorism" means the use or threat of action where:

(a) the action falls within subsection (2),

(b) the use or threat is designed to influence the government or to intimidate the public or a section of the public and

(c) the use or threat is made for the purpose of advancing a political, religious or ideological cause.

(2) Action falls within this subsection if it:

(a) involves serious violence against a person,

(b) involves serious damage to property,

(c) endangers a person's life, other than that of the person committing the action,

(d) creates a serious risk to the health or safety of the public or a section of the public or

(e) is designed seriously to interfere with or seriously to disrupt an electronic system.

So, it might be a random attack, an attack for some reason we don't know about or a hate crime.

Birmingham

A white British male with links to white supremacist groups and a house full of extremist literature shot and repeatedly stabbed Jo Cox, a member of parliament, at the polling station for the constituency she served, on polling day, in front of hordes of people, while shouting "BRITAIN FIRST" and he wasn't a terrorist either. So don't worry your fragile little ego, you're not being oppressed.

Iceland, but Aldi is closer..

Ok, so why is it muhiddin mire, the 2015 leytonstone station knife man was considered an act of terror?

Yesterday's attack was only a few miles away from the 2015 attack and doesn't seem a lot different.

We don't know, because *we* don't have all the facts. It's spurious speculation until we do. Does that help anything, but whip up fear, -isms and the such?
