"There are so many unanswered questions out there. What confuses you most? Lets see if any fabbers can shed some light! Id like to know how space can go on forever?! If space is just a vacuum so essentially nothing then how is it even a thing and surely all things have a beginning middle and end?!?! " Does nothing exist ? That somewhere out there is a universe older than ours that is contracting and we are expanding to take that space, or we are pushing it to contract. I'm not helping... an I?

Surely death, in terms of a sentient being, is the point at which that sentient being ceases to be sentient? If you could rearrange my atoms so I was a chair but I retained my sense of self then I haven't died. Rearrange my atoms into a chair and I lose my sense of self... I've ceased to exist. I am dead regardless of the comfortable wing back chair that still exists.

I know they're still able to feel things but there are ilnesses which prevent you from feeling physical pain and combined that with being unconscious or in a comma you could be therefore classified as dead.

And to answer both, it depends on what you class as "you". If "you" are just atoms, then you will never be born, and never die, you'll just be. If "you" are the result of those atoms interacting with each other to produce a sentient being with actions memories and feelings, then when those interactions stop, "you" must be able to die.

"Why do we have space and then deep space, surely it's one and the same. And why do we get black holes in space when it's essentially a giant hole x If there is just space how can it have a hole in it..." I can't tell if this is flippancy or a lack of understanding. I'll assume the latter. A black hole isn't a hole. It is a region of such strong gravitational forces that even light can't escape. This appears as a black hole in space.

"Here's the thing Hopster, space isn't a thing, it's the things inside it that are things. Now this begs the question, if the things inside space are things that exist then the space between then must be some kind of thing - right? How can you measure a distance of nothing? This kind of thing blows my mind and reminds me of my favourite quote from Carl Sagan: "The Cosmos is all that is, ever was or ever will be". There's also another quote about thinking too hard and your brain falling out but I'll leave that there... " Mr Bear you are not helping one little bit!
