I'm taking a road trip soon from down here in Plymouth right up to Manchester stoping off a long the way to meet some fab friends

Anybody ever done this?

Yes I took three months and backpacked/road tripped around the UK, staying in hostels and at old friends etc...was ace.

Yes when i was younger with parents did norfolk to scotland stopping at places on way and norfolk to cornwall to wales. Love road trips, could only do now if i was passenger

Like the Cotswolds, Stonehenge then down to the South West

Not quite the same, but went away to Galway for a swing social weekend early last year with some good friends. The journey was done in 2 stages... Wexford to Dublin and then Dublin to Galway. Aside from the friends who were actually attending the social.. I managed to squeeze in a coffee meet with someone I'd been chatting to a while on the Friday evening (we met up again later in the weekend for more than coffee

), and then on the return journey I managed to grab a couple of social drinks over a couple of hours in a pub in Dublin between train connections with aother good swing friend

All in all it was a pretty good trip

To be honest I was thinking more about sight seeing but I could always try and pick someone up along the way
