Are you naturally suspicious of the unknown?

I ask the question as I've had a commission enquiry that I feel says 'scam' to me. While folk I've mentioned it to, are of the opinion that I'm being too suspicious or cynical.

Im suspicious of EVERYTHING but also really worried about offending so never question things

Id say go with your gut, err on the side of caution.

Yes I am. I didn't used to be but age and experience has taught me to be.

Oddly my parents aren't suspicious enough and I spend a lot of time trying to convince them to disbelieve every contact from unknown people.

I'm torn and will be asking people in the same industry as me 'if you were in my shoes' questions.

It's a sad world when we're suspicious of so much.

Iceland, but Aldi is closer..

I am always suspicious of everything, especially online..

As far as I'm concerned, everyone has the potential to scam or rip you off, especially companies where the management have very little liability for their actions.

Learnt that lesson the hard way with a travel agent that went bust..

a quandary, could you change my mind?

Go with your gut feeling, ask more questions in a different way, depending on what the costs to you will be to continue with this decide if it is worthwhile, I for one would ask for something upfront.

naturally curious with the awareness that people always have a reason why they tell you things, no mater if its a lie or the truth. sometimes it can be even more interesting to see what people lie about compared to when they tell the truth... if that makes sense to anyone

Like on Fab... get 'em to give you a call, have a list of notes of convo pointers, and take it from there. You will have a better idea of how to proceed.

Sceptical about much and open to new things.

I use my gut instinct but my critical thinking is somewhat superior, to evaluate what I may or may not want.

If it doesn't feel right. I'm weary of it and become suspicious. But normally I'm very trusting anyway. I'm so easily a scam target. Thank god im also not stupid though.

I was pretty much going to type this! I'm very trusting and believe what I'm told. I am no fool however, I've got a good gut instinct which has saved me a number of times

Thanks guys, I've got food for thought there.

Still a little torn but with clearer reasons for and against now.

I tend to believe we make our own genuine opportunities

Genuine oppertunity rarely needs to come looking for us

I trust everyone to be acting purely in their own interests, unless their goals are congruent to mine.

"Are you naturally suspicious of the unknown?"

Only if I'm ALREADY curious about the subject matter.

"Always have my walls up . .. with everything and everyone "

Walls lock you in as well as keep others out. Miss Haversham stayed behind the walls until it destroyed her. Life it's too short too precious to not take chances..

To OP if it's a business commission then do the research check the facts the finances demand an up front deposit and if it still doesn't feel right walk away. There will be other commissions.
