Its the avitar.. (profile Pic) and the name... If you squint in a dark room with a dodgy monitor.. half cut and possibly stoned, its an easy mistake to make eh!!

As has been suggested there's nothing in your name to suggest your gender. The couple wouldn't know you're a single guy till they checked out your profile.

As for what prompted them to look in the first place it could be something as innocent as a post you made on the forum.
