I haven't lied about my age since I was a teenager going into pubs before I was 18, and even then it was by omission. For me there is no point. I'm not any more attractive or desirable by knocking a few years off.

I still couldn't pull in a brothel

I actually couldn't wait to turn 30 in the hopes people would start to take me seriously. Then I remembered I don't even take myself seriously

There's a few that do this, and some of them are deluding themselves.

I don't see the point in lying...like the OP my birthday on here is slightly earlier than in reality. I get messages from guys who admit they've tweaked their DOBs to get past my filters, and the excuse "it's only a few years" has worn thin

Im told i don't look/act my real age so maybe i could get away with taking ten years off! But then why would i?

I'm proud of what I've achieved in my 45 years and I like others to see the real me, not pictures from years ago or that I'm not who they thought i was.

I'm 52 and have never thought to lie about that - you either like the look of me, or you don't, regardless of how old I am. Admittedly, people who *do* lie could say the same thing I suppose but in an environment where I personally feel trust is important, I'd just rather be honest and hope that others were honest with me too.

Seriously. If you like the look of someone then meet them. If not don't. Why does age factor so highly? Surely the problem is if people don't look like their pics that is the issue, not what age they claim to be?

It's when they have old pics and have taken years off their age that I take exception to.

If you look good for your age, why lie? I'm not embarrassed by being 51, and my body is a wreck

im 50 next year & it doesn't bother me & im no where near slim & body perfect,people either like me for who i am or they don't,i respect some one alot more if they're honest about their age,to me age is just a number.

There's a well-known couple over here who have shaved 5 years off both their profile ages twice since I joined 2 years ago (Benjamin Button how are ya?!!), but I've been told by those in the know that they're both in and around 20 years older than they claim to be.... now that's a stretch!!! I wouldn't worry about a few weeks OP

My difficulty is that I have always been considered older than I am.

When I had my 30th birthday party a few friends turned up with happy 40th cards. Initially I thought that they were taking the proverbial but it transpired they thought they had misheard 30th and genuinely thought I was 40.

Well I've lied the other way I've said I'm older,I'll try not to be tempted to wack 20 year's off on the correct day .

Having said that if I could go back to be 30 there's certain thing's I would do a whole lot differently

My name isn't opihr or scarlet seduction and I don't live in a gin palace...oh and my profile isn't really undergoing surgery. Yep. Pretty much everything. You've got me banged to rights, guv

Seriously though, just because my age isn't accurate doesn't mean I'm a compulsive liar. I just think some things aren't relevant. ..oh... and I've never had anyone call me out over it so I don't get what the issue is. I just don't want random people knowing certain things about me. Especially when they don't need to and it doesn't hinder their enjoyment of me
