Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I have to get an endoscopy (yeah yeah hardehar) next month. I'll be going in the morning and it should be done in a couple of hours. Will I be up for going out in the evening or should I tuck myself into bed with a magazine and a very soft cushion?

Anyone who's had one let me know. The rest of you can have a giggle at my expense.

I would suggest that you give your self 24 hours to chill out after it.

I have had 3, 2 down the throat and one up me bum (perhaps the one up me bum was what gave me a taste for anal lol

it depends whether they knock you out when doing it. they give you an option to be put out or stay awake. I had the first two done and was put out. The last procedure I had I was awake. Although am not a wimp I would not do that again. Its the gag reflex with the rubber block in your mouth that I found very unpleasant.

Thats what my mate said. He said the docs will probably comment at how easily its going up.

My doctor's answer to the same question was that it depends on the patient... But unless they were checking your tonsils, from below you would normally expect to be able to go back to work same day. He was right. In the clinic at 08:30... In the office by 12:00;-);-)

The ex MIL never needed one...

Well ya wouldnt if ya lived with ya head permanently up yer ass...

I had it done a couple of years ago, I was sedated but I don't think I was sedated enough, I found it very uncomfortable and quite painful at my stomach region, the doctor just apologised and said it was probably because I was very little, apart from that it was ok

I have had endoscopy three times. The first was as an out patient and the system failed to tell me what was involved and that if I was sedated I could not drive home that afternoon. I had no option I had to drive home so I had the procedure without anaesthetic. My throat was sprayed with a mild anaesthetic spray to deaden the gag reflex and the tube went down. It was a bit uncomfortable but it was a case of 'needs must' and make myself relax and not feel the discomfort. There was no internal sensation in the stomach at all.

The next two procedures were in hospital when I was an in patient with jaundice. I was put on the table, my throat was sprayed, the anaesthetic was administered and everything happened thereafter when I was 'out'. I woke up about 30 minutes later on a bed in the adjacent recovery ward feeling very relaxed and drowsy. After a cup of tea I was taken back to the ward where I slept again. There was no residual internal or external sensations or discomfort.

If you are an outpatient I suggest you get someone to drive you home and then write the rest of the day off.

maybe it is just me then.. i had a hurrendous time with the tube down the throat...

it was suppose to be done under local anaestetic but i was convulsing so much i managed to knock myself out..... so it ended up hurting my back and not speaking for the best part of 3 days....

They gave me the choice to be sedated or not...I asked the nurse who was admitting me what she would do and she said, sedation every time. Even with it, it was possibly the most unpleasant experience of my life. I didn't leave it a full 24 hours before driving and the sedation wears off pretty quickly but definitely couldn't have worked the afternoon afterwards...colonoscopy was a breeze in comparison but then I've had much wider things up there...

If I remember rightly the sedative is similar to rohypnol and should be told not to sign anything legal for 24 hours and someone should accompany you back home.

That is assuming it is the same sedative they are using. All I remember was getting to the hospital then arriving home. The bit in the middle went missing!

had both done the endescopy was the easiest,,as i was knocked out,,

so your goin for the colonoscopy so youl still have the effects of the laxatives in you when you finish it,,i wouldnt advise having a night out, lol,,

but you could just have a cuddly night in,,that worked for me,,j was cuddling her teddy and i was on the toilet, lol

If they give you the sachet stuff you mix with water, here is a good tip. Mix it with a small amount of water (say 3/4 of a mug) and drink it. Then drink plenty of water afterwards. Rather this than the near pint they recommend, it tastes to bad to drink a near pint of it!

Not been told about any laxatives, although I guess the enema will have lots on fun attached.

I had one a few years ago, didn't have the sedative and it wasn't a problem at all, didn't hurt a bit and drove home after and couldn't tell anything had been done! It's weird seeing your insides as well so if you can see the monitor that takes your mind off it as well. hope everything is ok. Z

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

"Just to clarify, its going up me bum, not down my gob. So apart from the enema (yuk) it sounds as if i should be OK."

Enema? I had Moviprep Make up 1 litre of water with the two packets of stuff. Like drinking a thick glass of Andrews. And once the floodgates open I suggest you don`t even bother moving off the bog! I was knocked out both times I had it done and the second time it was only down my throat. I have a bad gag reflex which probably explains why. Don`t forget that it`s a technical 24 hour driving ban after you`ve been sedated.
