Your right, the thought of somebody coldly calculating this kind of atrocity is beyond my comprehension.

It all seems to have been done by a CHRISTIAN fundamentalist. No comment needed, I think.

Have to admit...

that my initial thought when i heard about the car bomb was it was Muslim fundamentalists, Norwegian troops in Afghan etc..

How wrong was i!

when the shooting news came in i thought thats not their normal M.O.

there are nutters right across the spectrum who hijack religious beliefs to wreak havoc

"Nutters...who hi-jack religious beliefs" - yes, true. Perhaps it would be better if we had NO such beliefs? False dogmas lead us all astray, some of us further astray than others.

Not dissimilar to the Oklahoma bombing of around '95. Didn't suit the authorites that it turned out to be Timothy McVeigh.

Somewhat fortuitous and timely that the sick offensive racist "joke" about Bradford was eventually removed from the joke thread.

Just read this, gotta say I agree with it

.

This individual wants nothing more than to have his name plastered all over the media, doubtless hoping to inspire others to mount similar atrocities in pursuit of perceived injustices.

Obviously, the people caught up in the Oslo bomb blast won't have a say, neither will the youngsters who were either gunned down, or drowned trying to flee the tiny island which became hell for a day.

There remains no doubt that the horrors experienced by those Oslo office workers, and those kids attending a political rally on Utoya Island should be learned from and not forgotten.

But the perpetrator of these terrible events should be quietly jailed for life, without fuss, and left to rot.

Public perception should focus on the insane horror of that day in Norway, and not on the name of the sick, twisted bastard who carried out these atrocities.

He should be forgotten. Erased. Left to rot. Sick bastard.

Seems he had horribly planned it, bomb in one city, to distract the authorities whilst he made his way to this island, terrible, just terrible!!

"He should be forgotten. Erased. Left to rot. Sick bastard."

That's the biggest injustice of all though isn't it. His name will be forever linked to those of his victims. The sick fuck who killed Milly Dowler will always be mentioned whenever she is, he'll probably even claim bragging rights for bringing down a national newspaper.

As for this Norwegian bastard, he'll rot in jail in solitary for all the time he's inside, hopefully for the rest of his natural time on Earth. The moment another con gets access to him he'll be killed or maimed.

He has to be dead himself to become a martyr... and I hope he doesn't die. He should live until he's 99 and spend every second from this day to that alone in a 6x4 prison cell.

Just listening to a report from BBC news, Norway, somewhat naively, don't have laws to cover such atrocities. The MAXIMUM he'll get is 21 years!

It's a terrible tragedy for sure, but I worry that we are going to see more of this type of atrocity, it seems that across europe the extremist movements are gaining support, worrying times my friends, make love, not war is a message we should be promoting I think, xxxx, hugz to all, and heartfelt condolences to all the friends and families of the people killed.

What Im really shocked about is the fact that he wore a police uniform to signify he was in a position of trust and was there to help, encouraging people to come to him, to look them in the eye whilst beckoning them, and then to shoot and kill them after gaining their trust, I cant believe it

My understanding of what happened is that he gathered a lot of them together and then opened up with a semi, mowing thme down. He then followed those that ran away into their tents and executed them, pumping five bullets into them to make sure they were dead. Those that decided to swim were shot in the water, and those that swam but turned back when they couldn't make the other side were shot when they returned.

This guy set out to kill and he used the bomb to distract emergency services while he made his way to the island - his primary target I suspect.

He seems to have _iewed the ruling Labour Party as selling his country down the river and these kids were the next generation Labour Partry members. That's what he was trying to stop - I believe - when he said it was 'neccessary'.

When comparing casualties to size of population, this is twice as big a deal as 9/11 was to the U.S. And most of the victims were children.
