Yep, its not the usual I'm leaving topic but a grumble..

What is it these days with people saying bye on the phone.

Isn't one bye each enough? As the phone moves away from your ear a little distant voice seems to be trying to get in as many byes as possible.

If you do this, I'd so like to know why!?

You can't even hang up in anger with a mobile phone as well. Pressing the button with a temper isn't as much as a statement as slamming down the handset in someone.
