I read that it is a typing error seeing that he used twitter on his phone and the word was supposed to be "coverage" in his tweet on negative press

Yes, except that even if you replace covfefe with coverage it's still only half a sentence that was tweeted.

The man should have his phone locked after bedtime once his handlers have read him his lullaby.
