Long post, I know.

I've grown to like you guys, I don't post outside of this lounge forum. We all use this site in different ways, we're allowed to. I've come to recognise people and even been lucky to talk to most/some of you as well.

So hypertheticaly speaking I'd love to meet all of you somehow, maybe over a coffee, who wouldn't want to meet people they like? I mean, I wouldn't want to meet strangers I've never talked to before, but I feel I know some of you.

Hypertheticaly - to make things easier for everyone if we all got together at the same time, we could all socialise with each other rather than aranging singular social meets. I think this sounds super cool.

So I posted a thread a couple of days ago (it's now in the meets forum) to see if others in the lounge thought the same. I wasn't arranging anything in that thread. For anyone who knows me in here, I wouldn't do that. I've tried to get you guys to write my profile/pms/threads for me. I'd be wise enough to get a clever woman or two to sort it out for me. I'd make sure they arranged it locally for me too.

So this is a thread 'again' in here, asking how you would organise it making sure no strangers turned up. Would you pm everyone or ask them to pm you?

Would you just post a date hoping people would turn up. Has anyone ever arranged anything like this before?

When I was a member of a certain fitness forum we used to meet up for forum socials, usually in London as it was the most central place for our particular group. I'd go up on the train and be met by a certain gentleman and we'd all meet up with other members later for food and me and this certain gentleman would make our excuses and leave and go to a hotel for fucking!

On here people are too spread out, like you have people from way up north, Ireland, Wales, Scotland. Couldn't expect someone from Scotland to come all the way down.

I'd like to meet lots of people on here in a friendly way but everyone's spread out too much. Plus I'd want everyone to come down to Cardiff

I think you should do it guest list style, whereby your name has to be down on a list. If your preparing for lots to come, you will need to think about venue so numbers would help with that.

I think also the midland would be a sensible option? Allows for people coming from Scotland, wales etc not to have to go to far?

Actually what is midlands, what areas?

The group social is a great idea. Having a guest list is really a must for it, you have to be realistic with the venue and their numbers for safety of all.

Keep it by pm so only those that have asked get the details. But also be considerate of those traveling by public transport to find the venue easily.

Really hope I can make it, looking forward to meeting everyone x

Speak to KinkyMinx. She (and Hatter and Diamondjoe) arranged the three very successful Secret Tea Parties that happened in London (they've a group profile set up for the administration of it), and are very tight on ensuring it's kept to only those specifically invited. And she can explain the likely pitfalls too.

"

Pick a location, time and date.

Advertise to generate interest. People can talk and see who else might be coming on the threads

A few days before, get people to confirm attendance. Keep the list of all those that confirm.

A couple of days before, send those that confirmed all the details.

Expect half not to show.

That's pretty much how we do the tea parties.

Hope that helps.

But you don't advertise the exact location -- i.e. You say Central London publically but only provide the exact info by PM a few days ahead and ask people to absolutely not publicly post it -- hence keeping it contained.

Well first it's finding the venue and knowing maximum numbers. Then the date. Don't try to do it all in one go. As once it's actually on the meets forum you will be swamped with the admin so a helper will be useful. Keep it to pm's so no details make it onto the open forums. X

Say there was one and it was in Birmingham and say 50 forum members turned up. Where would 50 people go? Would have to be some kind of venue that has function rooms which would incur fees. Between 50 off people wouldn't amount to much but would possibly have to explain to the proprietors what organisation we were from

I dunno,

"Say there was one and it was in Birmingham and say 50 forum members turned up. Where would 50 people go? Would have to be some kind of venue that has function rooms which would incur fees. Between 50 off people wouldn't amount to much but would possibly have to explain to the proprietors what organisation we were from

I dunno,

We had 40 people at the last tea party, just in a pub.

Did you walk round London holding an umbrella in the air? What would our symbol be, a giant double ended dildo "

Some people are instantly recognisable - especially if they have a face pic on here! Normally where you're meeting is specified and then you sort of make eye contact hoping someone will realise it's you before you have to take the risk of asking if it's them.

I've been to a few at Jaydees and Xtasia - they were a good laugh but I imagine somewhere less sex clubish might be better for the forum.

I genuinely think there should be a little tally list made of members in that particular area.

Like South Wales has say 20 people or midlands has 15 people, up north has 10 people. Oops majority wins, needs to be in Cardiff.

I think also the midland would be a sensible option? Allows for people coming from Scotland, wales etc not to have to go to far?

Is this how you would do it? "

Reading is on the way to London isn't it, I passed it a few times on the Paddington train. I'd be ok with Reading.

Actually I'd be ok anywhere if it was close to a main train station, just would like the ticket to cost less than 50 quid, I like you all but not over 50 quids worth of fondness.

My 'pie-chart' of Forum use would probably be 75% Lounge, 20% Swingers Chat, 5% others. The Lounge seeks the natural first place to head for me.

A mahoosive Lounge social?

I'd probably stand outside umming and ahhing about going in for half an hour before chickening out .. I'm too socially awkward to break the ice with relative strangers so while the idea of meeting you all appeals, it would be kind of hell to actually have to walk in to the room on my own with you all there!

Yes. That's it isn't it. Keeping things manageable. I think sometimes strangers should stay strangers and such. I don't mind meeting people I know a little about already. But you I wouldn't want to talk to 50 people that don't know of each other already. I can't be the only one who thinks that?

To make this clear. It's not about me. I've asked you all to meet me. You mostly all say no. .

So. I'm sure youd all like to meet up with others that are around on the forums. This is what I though. I never got a personal invite to any socials, so I thought I'd arrange this one.

And you might have wondered why I was reluctant to start organising this on my own and why I asked advise? These two comments above are why.

And you might have wondered why I was reluctant to start organising this on my own and why I asked advise? These two comments above are why. "

You don't need a personal invite to socials.

And I'm sure you have been before.

If you organise something I'm sure a lot will come depending on dates and where abouts

I'm lost. Do you want to arrange a social that's open to everyone like the STP or do you want to arrange something more exclusive?

I invited you to attend the Tea Party. But you couldn't because it's too 'far'.

keep it simple -id say yourself and your 2 helpers just set a date and a central place of your choice ( you are never going to please all so if people want to and can get they will) - put a thread on here saying date and the town and time ish etc - whoever is interested post their names - then its pms nearer the time with actual details - dont start the swapping things cos so and so cant make it

A good way to meet a group of people is by doing what Kinky/Hatter/DJ do and organising a group social. You have to be exclusive of everyone though and it may mean you meet those you don't want to. Otherwise, why not just message those you want to meet privately and see what they say.

Hey Mister Bee, if you want to organise something then crack on and have fun. I think it's the rather long-drawn out deliberations in public and control-freak-esque need to seek advice but not be wanting to do it yourself, and confusion as to are you doing an open-invite to anyone seeing the post or only those you've interacted with and want there (how do we know who is deemed known enough or not by you?) and then if you're not organising it then why are you still banging on about it, and chill out when people feel a bit whatevs, they're entitled to, and yay there does appear to be people interested and please cut out the indecisive ambiguity and do it or not, and are we at 175 posts yet of it all that 'may' be mildly irritating some.

Have a lovely Thursday.

You'll wrap yourself in knots unless you keep it simple.

You've got some glamorous assistants to help out so decide on what you want to do and then post it. I'm sure lots of people will be interested
