Noticed a few threads over the last week of a gardening nature.

So just wondering how many keen gardeners do we have and what are you specialities, areas of expertise or knowledge?

Allotments and Bonsai trees are my main thing.

Allotments are a newish thing, took my first on 2 years ago, now have 4.

Bonsai has been a long running interest since being a teen, but started collecting and cultivating properly about 5 years ago.

I did have a collection of about 100 Bonsai trees in pots and approx 350-400 stock of saplings/seedlings grown from seed to turn into Bonsai trees, sadly had to give most up when I moved to a place without the garden space for them all. (Hence getting the first allotment.)

Plums! We have two Victoria and a Denbigh plum all fruiting this year.

The damson has fruit too.

We also discovered an entire bed of alpine strawberries. Looking forward to gobbling those!

I've got an allotment. I've been reading up on air pruning the roots and I've had amazing success using rockwool.

I have become most proficient in the cultivation of s.

Whilst walking down my path to my front door today, I remarked to myself at the number of different varieties I have managed to tempt into my garden, in such a small space of time.

Sadly, tomorrow they will be no more, and I'm thinking of sowing some wild garden flower seeds along the edges of the path. Cornflowers are a particular favourite of mine.

I like country gardens with a wild look..

I'm in a Gardening club and enjoy the talks and photography. I have 20 orchids, mainly phalaenophsis and a few paphiopedilums. I love the colours all year round. I also grow all my summer bedding plants, just love growing things from seeds and cuttings. I'm waiting on an allotment to grow vegetables as my garden is not suitable. Gardening is very therapeutic

I have a herb garden where I grow a good range of herbs and different varients.

I also have a green house where I grow different varients of chillis and tomatoes.

This year im trying courgettes and cucumbers in the green house too, and a few herbs which need warmer temperatures.

I have a mix of about 100 cacti, rare, fine and flowering; all grown from seed.

Just put them out on the balcony now the weather has finally warmed up and looking forward to seeing how well they grow this year.

Aquatic pots are pretty good for this, something I've also looked into with regards Bonsai root training.

My ex liked Orchids, so I ended up caring for them after they always got sick.

Not keen now, even though I think they are lovely.

Want a herb patch on the lottie, comes in handy.

Just planted a good handful of tomatoes outside on my lottie today.

I have an indoor propagation tent for when they do.

We can get our geek on about growing, though I don't grow that kind of . :P

Just this evening I planted some flowery things in wall hangers, which was a first for me. I'm more your slash and burn kind of gardener. I can kill anything botanical without really trying..

Central

Been a gardener since a tiny child. Rounded interests, cottage garden, semi-hardly exotic plants, grow palm trees and a little fruit, including lemons. I've got a comprehensive knowledge of many plants and love the great outdoors and wild plants.

Currently annoyed that my two most mature palm trees are both male - too many men around!
