Brighton - even Hove!

I read my brothers copies of these and am trying to remember a couple of comic strips. One was invasion of the jelly people or something where aliens had suckers and put people in strong bubbles and the other was a robot school boy and 'iron neck' is in my brain for some reason.

Can the knowledgeable let me know the names of the comic strips? I'm on a past reminder half hour.

That's a kind offer which I will gracefully decline with alacrity. I'm sort of interested in pre-1975 copies. As of about an hour ago.

My favourite Beezer characters were the Numbskulls - little folk that lived inside the head of a man, looking after the various 'departments'

I've got a Beezer in front of me now, from 1981 a few years after the period Steve mentions.

No Brassneck or Jellymen but here's some nostalgic names of the strips for you:

Ginger on front and back cover, with, in order from page 2 onwards. The Numbskulls, Saucy Sue, Baby Crockett, General Jim, Hugh's Zoo, Hungry Hoss, Young Sid (the Coppers kid), Colonel Blink (the short-sighted gink),Tommy's Toybox, The Munchers, Smiffy, The Banana Bunch, The Badd Lads, Scrapper, Pop Dick & Harry and Little Mo!

Back in those days comics were comics! None of this new fangled rubbish the kids read these days!

I liked the relaunched version from the 80s and 90s.

Whenever I see or hear the mention of Dan Dare I am reminded of 'The Young Ones' episode Flood (end of Series 1) where Vyvian is taking the piss out of Rik

I suppose you think we should all go around touching each others bottoms! 'Dan Dare touches The Mekon's bottom!' 'Exciting new story: Batman gooses the Joker's crack!'
