Ever had someone in your life that you wanted but things always got in the way??

I have known this gorgeous hunk for years. Been best friends for a long time. Yet it never seems to happen for us. He is on this side of the pond but even now we can't seem to meet up.

Yes, I have one, it's the person I'm made the move from the Midlands to the South for. I think we were just too young (I was 19, he was a few years older). I think it just happened too early in our lives.

Yes, I'll kick myself for the rest of my life. I've had two relationships with the same girl 12 years apart. For various reasons out stars just weren't aligned. I'd marry her tomorrow if I could, maybe there will be a 3rd time lucky, here's hoping

Had been going with this gorgeous lady for 5 yrs she was the true love of my life.She just finished with me because she said I was going with other women (which I wasn't at all honestly)I cried my heart out for 2 solid weeks.I also turned to drink for 2yrs as well.I still hope that I might catch a glimpse of her one day and maybe talk to her,because I still hold a candle for her even up to this day.

I'm 44 now. I still remember and regret not having the courage to ask the girl in the year below me in the 6th form out as an 18 year old.

Gorgeous, lovely personality, and in hindsight flirted with me scandalously and dropped lots of hints but, at the time, I was just too naive (or disbelieving) to even think I'd have a chance....

If I could go back in time and give my own head a bloody wobble! I would do things so differently if I could live my life again with the knowledge and hindsight I now have!!

Yes and I was surprised when we separated, yes always knew we would get back together with 100% certainty, I just never knew when that would happen, 2 years, 20 years or longer perhaps. I was fully prepared to move forward with my life and not stay waiting, which I did.

We lived in different countries and had different relationships, very rarely seeing each other, never having sex, just being close friends. Then we got back together when his relationship ended badly, a week later we were engaged and in September we are getting married.

He's been living and working in China since last August and due home a week before the wedding. We started planning in March, then in the 2 weeks he was home and I'm flying out to see him in 2 weeks for a week. It's not a typical relationship but it works for us and from August, he will be back in Wales permanently.

So, yes it is possible for the one who got away to return, you just need patience, clear vision and work on seeing them again.

My one who got away...

She is more one that never was.

A smart sassy sexy girl with a secret sensitive side well hidden from the world. Probably no where near as tough as she pretends to be but don't think I will ever find out about that either.

Fun fiesty flirty erudite intelligent and achingly beautiful but it never even got started and probably never will.

We don't talk we are not friends....

And she is way out of my league. I'm just a guy nothing special with far more failings than positives but she touched me in a way I had forgotten existed.

I will always wonder what might have been...

Yep, met someone on fab 3 years ago, she stayed at my house every weekend for about 3 months, not just sex we did all the normal things together, had a great chemistry, I mentioned maybe becoming a couple officially as we were more or less doing that anyway, but she didn't like that idea because she's a swinger??? Didn't even take the time to talk about it??? Still think about her now but didn't pursue her at the time so I guess that is my fault.

Even though I was heart broken at the time I hope she is happy x

Not really 1 that got away, more 1 that never was. I was smitten with a woman that worked at an old work place, and flirted (really badly). I am friends on facebook but will never go further than that. Ah well lol
