"K has a mi fit which she loves. The official app is rubbish though" Is there any unofficial apps for it? Or can you link to any app? Been thinking of getting one... Is it accurate?

She has paid £2.40 for unofficial app which works fine. Had pairing problem with the official app

I need to eat a lot to hold onto weight. " It doesnt give you a fitness program or dietry advice.. it really is just a fitness tracker.. counts steps, measures sleep, does your heart rate, works out calorie burn and for how long youve been in each exercise zone... gives you a little buzz on the wrist when you reach your own step targets..

"I have a HRM somewhere, used in those days when the gym seemed like fun! Has a sensor strapped around the chest. A modern fitbit type device still needs one I guess?? " The most accurate devices do use a chest strap e.g. Polar But most wrist based devices use an optical sensor Interesting article here, though: https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/may/24/fitness-trackers-out-of-step-when-measuring-calories-research-shows

"Any recommendations and why. It will be fully appreciated " Depend on the type of sports.. I've got the Tomtom sports watch. It's got heart rate & GPS built in and is water proof so suitable for swimming too. Seem robust as well as it survived Tough Mudder fine at the weekend. What it's not as good for is sleep tracking and needs charging regularly if you're using the GPS features. Cal
