Who knew a pain in the underside of my heel could cause so much discomfort and pain..

Lack of sleep makes for a very grumpy Sassy

Anyone else suffered with it and how long before it got better?

I had it previously, did take it a few months to recover. Luckily enough no treatment besides rest and not wearing heels x

I've heard foot massages are good

Someone I work with had to go for physio to try to get it sorted. Someone else had acupuncture and tried foot baths with Epsom Salts

You need a good orthopedic insole in your footwear, one that gives added support.i suffered for years before seeking help.with the right insole the pain was gone within a couple of months.

Have you seen a podiatrist? They would be able to give you the best advice.

I feel your pain!

I've had acupture

Injections into it ( painfree for about a week )

Heat treatment

Physio

Custom insoles

All the above was done privately

Best advice is that it it will take time to heal (mine was twelve months plus) so try not to agrivate it or tire it.

I have insoles in all my shoes and I notice it straight away if for some reason I don't. The best ones (for me!) are off the shelf Ironman

insoles

Good luck and I hope some of this helps and I'm sure you'll be back on your feet in know time. Message me if I can help further xx

The other advice that worked for me is to avoid slip on shoes/boots.always lace up.

Ouuuuuuch

Ive had this and it took a few months to go away.

I suffer from having stupid flat feet so I get all sorts of aches and pains in them.

Only wearing sketchers changed my life!

Literally any itger shoe sets off some sort of pain.

I wish I had a solution for you.

You need to stay off your feet - do the exercises on youtube and wear sketchers

Hugs x

I used to freeze plastic bottles of water and roll them with my feet - or use a tennis ball.

Get some orthotic pro insoles. My mom suffered with this and I brought her some of these insoles off eBay and they are NHS recommended.

I had it for many years and although you can help it go, it takes time, lots of time.

Some treatment happy doctors will advise going straight to injecting with steroids as a cure. Think long and hard about this as it's not a cure and can cause other problems.

Fasciitis means 'inflammation of the fascia' and all it needs is time, loads of it. I had it twice in the same foot and each time it took over 18 months to finally go. You can help by stretching the plantar ligament that is inflamed by placing your foot in positions that point your toes towards your nose.

you probably notice it after you've been off your feet for a while then try to walk, mornings were murder for me, but it's just the ligament stretching again after the inflammation has made it go tight.

It's a self limiting condition, it just takes quite a while.

It is caused by the stretching of the tendons of the planta facia.

Usually due to collapsing arches stretching the tendons. Insoles can bring back the arch shape, reducing the problems.

I had this...a nightmare. Doctor called it policeman's heel, it took months to go. Hope you recover soon.

Meath

You need to stretch out your calves, hamstrings and glutes.. it's all connected.

Use a tennis ball on the arch of your foot to stretch out that tendon, start gently while sitting on a chair and do it while you're watching tv. Roll it back and forth. If you find a particularly painful place hold on it, press and breathe into the pain and then move on. Up and down the arch..

if you can get a foam roller (look in Aldi/Lidl, they do soft ones) and look up on YouTube for foam rolling and I promise it will help. (Do both legs btw)

I've had it lots... I've got really tight achilles. Lots of stretching, good trainers and ice can help. If you don't do these, it tends to stay!

I'd go and see a private podiatrist. You'll pay around £25 but you should only need one session and they'll give you lots of advice and stretches!

I have this also. It's on going for me for well over a year!

Mornings are the worst but once it's stretched it eases.

Sketchers have not helped, in fact they've made mine worse as they don't support my feet!! I have been wearing the go walk ones.

The first time I had it the soul of my feet became swollen. It was impossible to walk on.

I find strapping my foot up with sports tape really helps. It helps hold the foot in the correct position.

Standing with the ball of your foot on the bottom stair, drop your heel then go on tip toes to stretch is really good. I do this if my foot hurts at work.

Mold

It's very common with runners

Actually gave a look at the Runners World website and there's lots of advice on there

Unfortunately there's not a lot you can do, but rest, ice and roll.

Have a look at getting supportive insoles for your shoes.

Aldi and Lidl often have them on sale

Flat shoes are literally the worst! You need a little bit of a wedge raisin your heel to keep a natural arch x

I had it for about 4 months and found shoe pads helped. Got them from Boots. There is a technical term but for the life of me I can't remember at the mo. Can sympathise as it can be very painful.

sassy get a golf ball. Place on floor and roll affected area on ball. Has be a golf ball coz of indents. Painful to start with but does get better. Plus never wear a flat shoe.. advise given to me by doctor and it worked.

Mine was caused by wearing crocs in theatre

. Good luck and hope pain goes away for you.

I've had it and it takes months to heal...lots of stretching and rolling a ball under your foot helps. I can't wear flat shoes, they make it worse. Heels offer me better support and a gentle stretch.

Yes, I suffer with it on and off in one foot since I was given a push by a dolphin.

As Im sure many have said, there are a number of stretching exercises you can do, as well as the rolling tennis ball under your foot.

For me, I found that wearing soft soled shoes like Sketchers with memory foam insoles cause it to flare up. I had varying mileage from orthotic inserts - some helped some didn't. Its a bit trial and error with those and in the end I didn't use them, just went for really good quality shoes.

shits creek

I ended up needing a bit of a heel on my shoe. A bit of a heel and soft supportive insoles. Was wearing flats for the whole day (and being on my feet for a minimum of 12 hours a day )that caused mine.

I wouldn't wish it on anyone. That first step in the morning could sometimes leave me on the floor.
