Is there a way to have my itunes music which is stored only on my laptop playing in my car through the car speakers rather than hand held device? I have no ipod and even if i did .. i wouldnt know how to download my itunes onto it. My itunes is only stored on my laptop at the moment.

Silly question but im hopeless at anything to do with gadgets.

Does the car have a USB port do you know? If it does, you can copy music onto a memory stick and try that

I will have to check. My car is about 7 years old. I dont even know after all those years if it has a usb port. I will check in the morning.

Yup USB or only other options are... depending on the age of the car

If it has Bluetooth

Load the songs onto an old / spare smartphone and then connect to car via Bluetooth

If it's an old car no Bluetooth

Get an FM transmitter gadget... basically it connects to the smartphone and then you just set the frequency on a blank channel on radio, say for e.g. 109.2 then when you set the transmitter to that and the car radio the phone plays through the stereo

Et voila

Don't forget the ever popular aux cable. So long as the music is stored on your account and isn't streaming you can play it directly from your computer through your cars speakers.

But i would have to have my laptop on the passenger seat which is a bit of an inconvenience I think.

My pick -up has an aux port 3.5mm cable connected to my tablet , or could buy a external speaker for your laptop

I think there's an app called Submarine that works on iPhones. You have to have software running on your laptop at home for it to work though (Muzecast is the same)

Or you could use Plex but again it relies on you having software running on the laptop.

Have a look if you have a usb port for the speakers of your car to plug in a MP3 player, Download from your laptop or memory stick on to your MP3 player you will find thou the battery/ charge on your MP3 player does not last long if you use the volume control or forward and rewind control on your MP3 Player just use the volume control on your speakers best of luck anyway..

A few ways to do it depending on what options the stereo has. USB stick is easiest, failing that, if you can play mp3 files from disc, burn the music onto CD as mp3 files. You get a lot more on a disc than making an audio CD.

As a last resort, it's a case of burning audio cds which could use a lot of discs.

Might be worth getting a new stretch for the car with usb or a card slot.

If you have an aux in jack on the stereo, you could get a lead to connect the headphone jack on the laptop to the stereo, but you would have to play from your laptop, so you are limited by battery life.

Bluetooth is best, either of the other two will do at a push.

I play all my music from home in my car via Muzecast or Plex, using Bluetooth on my phone/car stereo.

No copying files, they stream as if they were on Spotify, direct from my PC.

I use the same system at home but using a Chromecast Audio to my hi-fi.

You can change the resolution of the files, depending on whether you're using Wi-Fi or mobile data (lossless files at home, mp3 in the car)

That. Or you can hook up your phone through Bluetooth. Or if you've got an android phone you can sync iTunes with Google Play Music and do the same.

There's no faffy messing with cloud storage either, it's all stored locally on external hard drives.

Or, just put the house speakers in the car , with an extra long cable.

Simply wind the cable in on your journey home.

You could even wrap the cable round the wheels so it wound in automatically on the way back.

There is a big problem with that idea though as I don't have house speakers lol

I have speakers but one speaker isn't working so I can't even play music at home unless on the TV which is shite as I have no speakers for them. Hmmm I think i need to invest some time and money in getting these things ??

I looked at my car and i have a cd/mp3 hole for something. I have a cd player but rarely use it as who buys cd's these days. All my music is on itunes.

I dont use that as not sure what its for

If you go into somewhere like CEX or Game you can usually pick up an old iPod for relatively cheaply and then just download all your music off iTunes onto that and plug it in your car and away you go

It didn't sound like you have anywhere to plug the iPod into you're car though! You could get a new stereo for the car for £65 that doesn't have a CD player, just Bluetooth, USB and an Aux-In socket, which gives you far more options. Just copy your music onto a USB stick, plug it into the player and away you go...or go down the slightly more complicated route I outlined earlier

So, it should be easy, in iTunes you can put everything onto a CD as MP3.

Google 'burn mp3 cd itunes' for detailed info.
