So, with tattoos becoming more popular than ever, and the once negative stigma surrounding people that had/have them.

How much of a person do you like to see cove_ed? Is there a point for you where they have too much ink done?

I don't like tattoos on faces, necks or huge tatts on legs. That's too much for me. I like guys with sleeves and chest tatts. Nice artistic tattoos though

I don't like face or eyeball tattos. I suspect that a some young women will regret their chest tattoos when they grow older but I don't really mind where people have them otherwise.

I have two full sleeves and finger tats and get judged where I work, love putting people in their place as everything for me has a deep meaning, there's even been a discussion if I should be 'allowed' to have them on show...

i don't mind tattoos anywhere as long as they're well done.

I've seen plenty of horrific looking tattoos on necks or hands.

I know people with half their face tattooed and it looks awesome.

I love tattoos on a lass as long as they're decent tattoos,the ones that look like they were done in the dark with a knitting needle and a biro are just awful!If they're good quality tattoos then there's no such thing as too much for me

I love tattoos. Not sure what I'd consider too much. Not keen on facial tattoos but otherwise I'm good with whatever. I've got a few myself and planning on more.

I don't judge people with tattoos, and equally, it's none of my business. "Good" ink is subjective and if the wearer likes it, then its good enough for me.

Are people with tattoos discriminated against? Can't say I've ever felt that...

When I was a lad many moons ago you had to hide any visible tattoos to gain entry to nightclubs and certain bars.

Now they are the norm and nobody bats an eyelid it's a funny old world.

I agree. My daughter is a nurse and a wonderful mum to her w little girls bit has a side piece and a sleeve and the looks she gets from people and even the negative commemts is awful. I have a few but can only see my ankle one with clothes on but feel that's more an age issuex

This has got me pondering on the nature of tattoo acceptance now, which I haven't really given any thought to for a while. That alone implies that it's much less of an issue than it used to be, but I still think we've got a long way to go before it's REALLY accepted. For example, a few weeks ago I tried to go to a painfully trendy little bar in a small mixed-sex group (so not just a gang of blokes rocking up at the place) at which the bouncer was all politeness and smiles until he spotted me, and refused to let us in on the grounds that I "stumbled." Now, seeing as I hadn't d*unk anything stronger than a cup of tea at this point, this was clearly bollocks. Now I was wearing trainers and a hat, so if it was a dress code issue then fair enough, but my buddy and one of the girls were also in trainers and he was all smiles with them, which leads me to conclude that he judged me on my appearance. As I was slightly smarter dressed and have a neater beard than my compadre, and also wear glasses (which really does make a difference to how people perceive you) I think I can reasonably safely assume that it was my tattoos he took exception to. So I don't think we're quite there yet. On the other hand, I've recently obtained a couple of small tattoos that can't be concealed by everyday clothing, so we've certainly come a long way.

As for what I do/don't find attractive, I think I'm more likely to be put off by one small ugly badly applied tattoo than a full body suit of really good ink. Not enough to put my off getting my Willy wet though, at the end of the day it's none of my fucking business what tattoos a girl has.

I've seen people sporting a few tattoos and thought it looked too much and seen people cove_ed and thought it looked awesome, I think it depends on the style, the person's build and also the vibe they give off as a person. But then it's only my opinion and I don't expect anyone to give my opinion a single thought when they choose their own personal style because it's really none of my business

The prejudice whether hidden better or not is massively different, i got my first ink at 15 i regularly was not allowed in bars or clubs. I have been asked to leave after removing my coat. I've even been stood at a bar and the manager rang down to the barstaff asking them not to serve me because i had tattoos. These weren't freak occurences this was very much the norm 10 to 15 years ago.

most tattoos this century will not turn into blobs. the tools are better, the line work is thinner, the inks are different and i'm not sure how they'll hold up but i'm guessing the colours will only fade (i have a tattoo that still holds and is 26 yrs old but probably could do with the colours _edoing). all my ones from 13 years ago haven't even faded at all yet.

you can get them recolou_ed. there are techniques now that can make the shitty old ones look much better already, it's just having the money to do that really.

well skin does age, that's a fact. but how the ink goes in is vital to how the edges will blur or turn the tattoo into a 'blob'.

also the composition of the inks affects how it will colour as it gets older and there is breaking down of the ink from the sun and that. most tattoos can be repai_ed though, we have the skills now to do that.

Mine have never been a fashion accessory!! I had my first almost 28 years ago when it was frowned upon...especially for women...but others opinion on how I look is very unimportant to me as was it then! I hate all these fashion tattooed with the same shit, same placements etc....and then them thinking we are the same because of them....I don't want to be the same...why would anyone else!?! Plus...I will still be getting them into old age so not that worried about that aspect either

I can only speak for myself but 50 years after getting my first tattoos I still like them.

In fact the colour in my very first tattoo is still as bright as the day I got it but the black lines have faded slightly, but that only gives it more character.

It's always wise to consider what will happen to a tattoo as you age. A 20 year old girl with a dolphin tattoo on her boob may look great but when she's 50 and that dolphin is a whale staring at her navel it's not so nice.
