88 is a good run. He's left behind a cracking body of work that will continue to bring joy to people, tried to help those less fortunate than himself, and by the sound of things has had many a great adventure. A life well lived.

Good work Roger

He knew that more than anyone..... but brought just the right touch of humour to the Bond role. Always the best for me....and such a true gent.

Played the "privileged" card brilliantly....for the son of a "sarf London copper". Gave great interviews too.

We all have to go in the end....and he lived a full life for sure.

RIP Sir Rog.

The best Bond, in the best era of Bond films.

Met him once, at the checkout of Carrefour, Fontvielle, Monaco. For once I was happy to be stuck behind an oap in the queue!

And a place where you would expect 007 to shop. A selection of Dom Perignon vintages on the shelf, and live lobsters in a tank at the fish counter.

Felt only fitting that tonight's movie is one of his 'Bond' outings.

The rather entertaing, and slightly cheesy 'Octopussy'

I can imagine. I heard an anecdote he still liked to eat cold baked beans straight out of the can, a habit he picked up as a child.

I remember as a youngster back in the 60,s watching him portray simon templar in black and white on tv, chaseing villains in his cars on hair pin bends on cliffs in such places as greece or spain there was always a casino nearby very often after a chase he,d arrive at the gameing table and somebody would say we,ve been expecting you mr templar and he,d say the names simon templar as he looked just up above his head where his halo was then the programme would start.. always a great actor I prefered him when he portrayed the saint and the bond movies but he never failed to entertain when on the big screen... R.I.P Roger.

A white volvo I had the model toy car either matchbox or gorgi all collectors items now especially when either never out the box or hardly out the box in good condition, I used to remember a toy shop back then and its main window was always full of such toys.. If I had known then I would have stocked up for the future with them..

As a kid I used to think my Dad was a Double 0 agent, because he wore double breasted suits and Italian slip on shoes just like James Bond did.

When I think of James Bond, I think of Sir Roger Moore and when I think of Sir Roger Moore I think of my Dad, ergo My Dad is James Bond.

How my brothers laughed at my dad all the way through the nineties and naughties for still sporting that Gordon Gekko power suit style, funny how styles come back around.

RIP Sir Roger.
