I was just chatting to my best friend. We dont see each other as much as we used to yet I know he has my back 100%. If i needed him at any time hed be there and I am the same for him.

Do you have someone you can depend on completely? Who is it and how do you let them know you appreciate it?

I saw mine at the weekend, we had a right laugh and a great catch up, it's been 7 months since I've seen him.

We've been there for each other for 30 years and got up to all kinds of shenanigans. Any shit goes down he's the first person I call.

Do you feel like you want or need someone? I was the same in that i didn't relate well to people and didn't let anyone in. My best friend was kind of thrust on me, he was my husbands best friend and when he passed away he took me under his wing I guess. I couldn't push him.away cos Hes even more stubborn than me!

I spent Saturday with my best friend. We may not see each other every day but after months of not seeing one another it's still like we've never been apart.

I'd do anything for her and I know the feelings mutual

I've got a friend. We grew up together. If he knocked on my door now after not seeing him for about 3 yr. I'd help him. I know I could do the same.

My loyalty is timeless. It's not how often I see people, it's what I went through with them. How I relate to them, and the experiences we went through that made us friends. That never breaks.

Sometimes it's best just to rely on yourself. Other people can let you down in your hour of need and make things worse.

I'm more than happy with me, I'm there for myself and I'm reliable.

I'll be there for others, especially my family but find it easier to keep out of other people's business.

I talk to family/mates about most things like money issues, Health etc but I never talk about women/relationships, I have talked to more people on here about things like that, Even with my mates I don't really go into any details

I have very little family so its me and my boys against the world.

I have a couple of good friends, however we all lead very busy lives.

I'm actually terrified anything happens to me because I have no clue how they my boys would manage.

In all honesty, no details but something pretty horrendous happened to me when I was 18 which she found out about a few months later. Some people outside the situation would say that she didn't make the right choices about it for me, but heyho.

Bizarrely was only just talking about something similar to this to another forumite. I have a few lasting friendships from different times if my life that, although we rarely see each other anymore (including family members), I could depend on if the chips were down, and vice-versa. But because of the hidden side of my life (swinging), I can't be completely open and honest with any of them. However I was truly lucky with my first ever swing meet, over time as we shared life experiences we bonded over some similar past tragedies in our lives and became great friends. He's now my closest friend and the only person to truly know all aspects of my life. He gives me a push when I need it, tells me when I'm being an ass and I know I could ask anything of him, and he of me. People often misinterpret our relationship, but that's their issue. I couldn't want or wish for a better friend, and hope that when the time comes that he finds someone special, it won't mean the end

I have one friend who i can rely on no matter what. We've only known each other for 5 years but are really close.

We started out as fwb and for about a year we were shagging each other senseless. One evening we were laying in bed chatting and we both said "shall we ditch the sex and just be mates?" It had got to the point where the friendship was the most important thing for both of us and we didn't want anything to complicate it.

He is the only person in real life who knows i swing, apart from my twin sister who is on here too.

I have a great friend, we've been best if friends since we were 11.. we've always spent a reasonable time together and don't beed to do anything to let the other know how important we are to one-another... it's obvious.

I have a few friends that I could call upon too although I think it's more likely that my friends would turn to me. I seem to be the one in my circle that people come to in a crises. Always on hand with a hug, a cup of tea and a packet of biscuits!

Not completely no, I have only ever found that from the man in my life, but normally we have to rely on different people for different things - empathy from one, practical help from another, a damn good night out to forget your woes from a third.

True loyalty I have found is rarer than hens teeth, it seems to be out of fashion nowadays, and I take loyalty to an art form.

But it surprising who comes through for you sometimes, hope springs eternal!
