.

Years ago went to Greece and at the bar they had bowls of olives which I ignored.

The barman said he would the next eveing bring varying 'grades' of olives.

Still didn't find one I like

But I love bread dipped in extra virgin olive oil

I used to feel the same about them, but having had them in a good marinade changed my mind completely.

I love them, especially the green ones, stuffed with fetta, bloody lovely, plus a bit of olive oil, sundried tomatoes and some of that hard Italian, Greek or Turkish bread, washed down with some strong continental beer

I could go all night on a plate of them

a Primark shoebox in Leicester

Fresh olives are lush... green or black.

I can't stand the ones out of jars/tins.... they lack the fullness of flavour.

they are an acquired taste. try starting with the softer blue black ones the green ones are more bitter.

I make a lovely chicken and olive soup. You can soak olives for a while in milk and then rinse them if they are too salty.

Also try the little green ones stuffed with sweet pepper or garlic for beginners.

they are an aquired taste, i have over a couple of years started to adore them, they have to be good ones and in a suitable oil or dressing, sainsburys packaged ones are great as are the M&S packaged ones, never in brine as then too salty even for me
