With the exception of children. Why do men never put partner's first. It seems in my case other family member's like mam dad sister have always been put before me. And not to leave out mates also. Any other's had the same ?

I'm sorry to hear your experience, OP. That sounds tough. I don't think that you can make the sweeping generalisation that this is *all* men though. I know plenty that put their partners before them.

But to be honest I think one extreme or the other isn't healthy. Relationships are a fluid and there will be times when one of your needs make take precedence, it's about the balance and open, honest communication. Are you communicating your needs and how you feel? If not, do so.

most of my exes put me first, i've had guys leave their mates and move towns for me. never even expected them to, i think either their mates were shit or i was awesome.

had one ex who didn't, i was being used though so why would i expect him to put me at the highest rank and not at the bottom. i don't think all people who put a partner last do it for that reason although it can be one reason.

you can be taken for granted, i think this is a more likely possibility in most cases of neglect. i think they may not understand your needs and wants, this is often down to a lack of communication and can be fixed if you communicate about this and the partner is prepared to become more considerate. and don't communicate in an aggressive way, such a slamming doors, but do it at a time when you are able to express yourself assertively and not aggressively.
