Being inhuman

I knowing sounds strange, but another thread got me thinking about this and I wondered if anyone else noticed it?

To put things in perspective;

Men and women, (I don't want to be sexist) have fought many wars over history.

Weapons started as early close range weapons like swords axes and daggers, and eventually became long range to distance people from their target. Bows and arrows etc etc.

So nowadays we have sniper rifles that can take an enemy out miles away or wipe a whole villiage out at the push of a button. That button push distances the person doing the barbaric act from what is happening. And tbh I seem to notice peopledistancing themselves from reality more and more. Car drivers distance themselves from any form of manners or care due to being in a bubble, governments distance themselves from the people by doing what only the rich can afford and basically what the hell they like.

Can you think of any others?

Do you think in the future, we will have lost our empathy?

Are we becoming Vulcan?

Oooh, that thread title reminded me of that series 'Being Human'. A vamp, ghost and werewolf. Sorry, a bit off topic

There does seem a growing disparity between the unfairness of decisions taken by those in governance and the needs of those they govern.....

It's been happening for a while. Perhaps people are more distant to protect themselves against the horrors of the world.

I think the Internet is 'to blame' for making people expendable. Just look on here; people are always saying they don't give a shit about other people's feelings. They don't acknowledge that there is a real person behind every profile. Even the shit 'no text no pics' type man profile- he's still a human being. Yet people think it's ok to abuse them. Only people with 'acceptable' profile types seem to be considered worthwhile.

Very true.

Internet trolls are probably worse, they distance themselves using the Internet to abuse others for no apparent reason.
