Well, having heard recent Rolling Stones concerts...them.

To pay that much to see a 40% performance of them at their prime seems to be over rating their worth.

Probably goes for a lot of the Mega bands who don't know when to take it easy.

I can totally see why he gets on peoples wick. I think the fact he can behave like a bloody pillock at times causes his music to get a bit underrated though, obviously not by himself!

He does put out quite challenging music for a huge mainstream artist, he's certainly not bland, musically or otherwise. Loved his glasto performance. Now that Jay-Z on the other hand...

Some folk have different taste in music. Mine's eclectic. When Yellow was released I loved it. Spiders and Shiver are also brilliant to me.

If I don't like a band or singer I won't say they are overrated, just not my cuppa.

not so much "overrated" but here's our little list of popular bands that we don't seem to get any enjoyment from (we're not even considering pop music) sex pistols, the clash, u2, Coldplay, joy division, disturbed (may they die a slow and painful death for doing that god awful cover of "sound of silence") the list could go on but we haven't got all day

Agree with this, who can say if a band is over rated and who is doing the over rating? Using The Beatles as an example they sold over 1 billion units (singles, albums CDs and cassettes, remember them) so how can they ever appear in an over rated thread. In a which band don’t you like thread, fine but over rated, afraid not.

I'd agree with Coldplay and Radiohead as massively over-rated.

As an aside, bunch of oldies were talking about Elvis at work and one of the kids said "I can't stand his voice, can't understand how he got that big", to which I responded "Cos he didn't eat anything that wasn't deep fried after 1961". Think I misunderstood him.

And that amount of records sums up the Beatles longevity/mass appeal.
