No way!!! Incredibly sad news Chris Cornell was my absolute favourite male vocalist. That man had the most incredible range and could belt out a screaming rock fueled guitar blast of a song, and then go all the way back down to melancholic and gentle accoustic moods. Damn... that's really got me

Soundgarden is probably the "essential" Cornell. Try "Black Hole Sun" and "Jesus Christ Pose." The latter really showcases what a formidable voice he had.

Hmmm on reflection Soundgarden may be a little heavy for you too then. His solo work is much more accessible, but I'm not a big fan of it tbh. Try some Temple of the Dog. "Say Hello to Heaven" gives me goosebumps, and his backup vocal on "Hunger Strike" is raw emotion.

Suicide... It cuts deep to think he gave in for the nihilism that's so apparent in his work.

I know it may sound silly but I really feel like I've lost an old friend today and I'm feeling absolutely devastated...

Rest easy, CC! I hope you're having a drink with Cobain and Staley.
