The guilt of working a night shift has crippled me tonight, so I'm sorry for venting here

My mum stops at mine with my 3 year old, 3 times a week.

Just had a message that my mini me has been sobbing and screaming that she needs me as the monsters are coming. She currently begging my mum to get me

They are quickly diverted, what seems like the end of the world one minute, soon gets replaced by something else.

I used to leave my first at a creche in the building I worked in, she'd wail and scream, but when I got to my desk (feeling like worst mum in world) and called down she'd stopped as soon as I was out of sight.

Ask your mum not to call you unless it's a proper emergency??

Oh bloody hell OP that's awful and the last thing that you need while you are stuck at work, however your mum can cope with it I'm sure. Hope your daughter is okay xx

They'll be ok, it would have been better if you hadn't known as there's nothing you can do at work, I've watched children at playgroup and school really cry and cling to a parent. As soon as they go they're soon distracted and have forgotten Whereas the parent still feels guilty and worried.

Children are more resilient than we realise. xx

Most kids go through this phase, its perfectly normal.

They are pushing boundaries and trying to push that they are thoe boss. It does suck ass big time, dax went through it with his boy and ive recently been through it with my nephew.

My personal experience nearly drove me to tears and i only had him for one night!!!

Staying strong now will save bigger problems down the line... You can do this OP, remember it is hard but it is worth it

Agree with this. Children are master manipulators. And if she's having nightmares about monsters, maybe take a look at what she's watching.
