scotland

Check this opening verse from a big hit...gotta love it

She can kill with a smile

She can wound with her eyes

She can ruin your faith with her casual lies

And she only reveals what she wants you to see

She hides like a child,

But she's always a woman to me

I prefer his version of Just The Way You Are to Barry White's original.

Billy Joel: the bloke who divorced Christie Brinkley. Which just goes to show one man's bread is another man's poison.

ONE, by U2, love the words in that.

We're one but we're not the same we got to carry each other carry each other,

One love.

"Billy Joel: the bloke who divorced Christie Brinkley. Which just goes to show one man's bread is another man's poison."

.

I believe Billy Joel sang that song originally, and prefer his version to the new one.

The cover version of his Uptown Girl by one of the boy bands is no way as good as his version!

Bily Joel's version is the original. From the 77 album The stranger. Joel wrote it for his wife

This is the book I never read

These are the words I never said

This is the path I'll never tread

These are the dreams I'll dream instead

This is the joy that's seldom spread

These are the tears...

The tears we shed

This is the fear

This is the dread

These are the contents of my head

And these are the years that we have spent

And this is what they represent

Name that song?

Annie Lennox, Why?

Another fine song.

"Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd always does it for me, 'cos I cry over my wee dead cat when I hear it.

(And if anyone laughs at that, you can f*** right off)

Go away from my window

Go away from my door

Go away way way from my bedside

And bother me no more

And bother me no more

I’ll go tell all of my brothers

Tell all my sisters too

The reason that my heart is broke

Is on account of you

Is on account of you

I’ll give you back your letters

I'll give you back your ring

But I'll never forget my own true love

As long as song birds sing

As long as song birds sing

Go away from my window

Go away from my door

Go away way way from my bedside

And bother me no more

And bother me no more

Love this one.

Who sang it, who wrote it?

Who sang it, who wrote it?"

According to google, several people sang it:-

Marlene Dietrich

Joan Baez

John Jacob Niles

It is an old folk song

"Glitter In The Air"

Have you ever fed a lover with just your hands?

Closed your eyes and trusted, just trusted?

Have you ever thrown a fist full of glitter in the air?

Have you ever looked fear in the face and said, "I just don't care"?

It's only half past the point of no return

The tip of the iceberg

The sun before the burn

The thunder before the lightning

The breath before the phrase

Have you ever felt this way?

Have you ever hated yourself for staring at the phone?

You're whole life waiting on the ring to prove you're not alone

Have you ever been touched so gently you had to cry?

Have you ever invited a stranger to come inside?

It's only half past the point of oblivion

The hourglass on the table

The walk before the run

The breath before the kiss

And the fear before the flames

Have you ever felt this way?

La La La La La La La La

There you are, sitting in the garden

Clutching my coffee,

Calling me sugar

You called me sugar

Have you ever wished for an endless night?

Lassoed the moon and the stars and pulled that rope tight?

Have you ever held your breath and asked yourself will it ever get better than tonight?

Tonight
