application - slave needed

Well i was just going to be greedy/cheeky and start thread in the light hearted sense asking who would want to be my slave for a day and do all my housework because i really can't be bothered to do it, but in reality how many of us could actually employ someone to deal with personal things like laundry and take care of your housework??

The more i thought about it, the less likely it appealed to me.

If you are a working mum and dad you really do need help. I always had a lady to help me while my kids were growing. It was lovely to come home to a tidy house and some food both for the us and the kids and they become like family.

The most recent one still comes three times a week to tidy up and cook for my ex and she also works in the family business. That's probably over 12 years now.

Nothing wrong with it, it facilitates everyone.

A few years ago when I used to work really long hours I tried having a cleaner, but always did the classic trick of tidying up the day before she came...and then cleaning up afterwards for all the bits she missed.

I dont bother now but I do like sending all my clothes to the laundry before I return from holiday so that they can just be put away when I unpack.

Id like a 'handy-man' slave though...

My great grandma (i never knew her) had thirteen children

She was married to the same man for all of her life

They first lived in a two bed roomed terraced house and also both worked (she had two cleaning jobs one in the morning and one in the evening)

I have a photograph of her and her entire family seated outside their modest home

All the children look well cared for (they are all dead now)

and happy

My GGM is standing in the picture looking like a Russian female body builder with a face like a bulldog chewing wasps

Her arms are folded and i wouldn't have liked to of crossed her

But in my personal opinion she must have been one hell of a woman and my Grandad her son spoke highly of her xx

little house on the praire

Up until about four months ago i had a cleaning lady but she left to do full time work and i didnt replace her. I love it though. My mother does my ironing if i have any i havent ironed for three years
