Making money - any ideas?

Evening folks.

Times are hard for everyone, and for those of us that have lost our jobs its even harder.

I find myself in the position that I need to make money and fast or I will be past the point of no return in terms of house and just about everything else!!

So I am asking you all if anyone has any ideas of ways I can make money? lol

Please no-one say 'just get a job' as I have been trying that constantly for a couple of months now with zero success.

This is a genuine question so please no piss taking comments, as I really am in a massive hole at the moment and can't think of a way out!

x

It's a tough one Glasgow .... but unfortunately, and I am sure that you are looking or an answer, but there is no answer to your predicament.

All we can hope for is that you will have some luck and maybe find a litle bit of work someplace at the 11th hour that will make you enough money to continue .. It's not easy and we can vouch for that - been there and done it, and some weeks are still doing it ..

Best of luck and we hope that your situation will sort itself out soon

Is unemployment so real theres even no training for something else ?,At least you wouldn't be in house doing nothing other than sitting around doing nothing at all your going to get fed up doing nothing aren't you at least with an agency or unemployment you would get more

A chap round our way has teamed up with some others and do gardening and repairs etc.

He makes most with the old folk and disabled who cant manage them any more and he seems to be doing ok since losing his job.

good luck hun

Did'nt someone start a thread earlier about working in Amsrerdam?

how about something really different and a total change?

I feel for you as I don't know how we would cope if one of us lost our jobs, its been bad enough with me being a student for the past 3 yrs

Thanks for all the replies so far, I appreciate it.

To answer some of the questions, I have looked at retraining but any course that I would want to do (and I have looked at many) has silly course fees which I cannot afford and cannot get funding to help either.

I do have ties to this country and I unfortunately don't have a trade.

do you have space for a lodger ? or even a forgeign language student ..a friend of mine takes mature ones in, you have to provide an evening meal and a help yourself breakfast but they are generally less hassle than the younger ones. It tided her over a lean patch .

good luck, these are harsh times xx

But the problem is that there is so much red tape now ..... unless you have a certificate in this and qualifications in that you cannot do the old 'odd job' thing anymore and it's so sad because there are so many people who have skills, but because they don't have an official 'paper' to say they are qualified, they are not allowed to do the job ... even though they might have years and years of experience and can do the job so much better than a tin pot college course bozo - it makes me sick, it really does

i was out of work after leaving the forces, just got a really good job this week but my downfall was my refusal to sign on, which in the end has cost us a wee fortune. Im a qualified painter and decorator, not time served though, i am also pretty good with gardens and things like such, what i did was print off a few fliers, just black and white on normal paper and spent a few days posting them through the doors of residents of 'better off' areas

made a small fortune, under cutting expensive painters, and as its the summer the amount of older people who cannot be arsed to cut thier hedges etc but have the tools was pretty awesome

give things like that a try mate
