Stag Weekends

I was wondering if it's customary to pay for those attending a stag 'event' to pay for the stag.

For example, the stag weekend is being planned and will be held in either France or Germany. The best man is saying the guests should all pool together some money so he can pay for the stags hotel and flight.

Is this usual for stag weekends?

Thanks

Stag dos I've gone on we've all paid for ourself.

We all shared rooms though to keep costs down though.

For my friend's hen party I paid for her, as the maid of honour. My mother said it was what I was meant to do. The other women paid for her drinks and such.

More common now, i've had a few now where we have had to pay for the stag.

Don't know if it's customary, but it's certainly a nice thing to do for a friend, who values your company enough to have invited you to go?

Subjective though I guess, if only 4 of you were going to Vegas as oppose to 20 going to Blackpool

I was a best man only this weekend and the whole thing cost an obscene amount of money, with stag do's, suits, presents, accommodation, booze, annual leave, etc, etc..

So my advice would be keep your money in your pocket, they shouldn't be so selfish! IMO..

P.s, it was a good day though..
