I have a 100mb connection with virgin and its great. I did a speed test and it was 100mb dead on.

And best thing about virgin is, it doesn't use a phone line so no line rental

Highly recommend cable over fibre

I've been with BT for many years. Speeds are great, but I do get a lot of disconnections. According to the neighbours this isn't unique to BT, looks like it's something on the lines in the area.

It's a pity BT open reach who provide the lines won't accept there is a problem.

I've only been with them 5 months and fingers crossed nothing has gone wrong.

I used to be with PlusNet and found they had a great customer service. But in my area Virgin have the best speeds at the best prices so I went with them

I've had endless trouble with BT, but they seem to have finally remedied the issue. However I would move to Virgin in a heartbeat....

Virgin all day long ,great customer service ,especially when you get the Scottish ladies . Any problems have been fix fast (not that I have many ) . I've got the full package with multi room and the internet is super fast ( the exchange box is 10ft from my door ,so that helps lol) and the TiVo box is great . The new box is even better so they say, i need to upgrade thinking about it ..

I work for them so I'm slightly biased . But I have a 200mb connection and I get 220mb off peak.

Sounds like a strange thing to offer on here, but give me a shout with an email address if you like and you can get a mates rates deal.. it's usually around £10 less than the advertised prices

It's all down to how far from the exchange cabinet you are.

I am with virgin and don't get the speed they advertise because of the above (virgin told me that).

They are expensive too.

There is degredation but it shouldn't be a massive drop.. if it is, they're fobbing you off lol

So we live in Lincolnshire. Have no neighbours - that kind of remote.

On wired broadband we got 2mb at best.

On new satellite we are seeing 20mbps

The thing is if you do not have a fibre optic connection....virgin is always going to be the fastest. It's not the cheapest by far but many areas don't have fibre BT lines in...like myself but I'm a cheapskate so I go for the cheapest, which costs me around £10 pm

We were with virgin for years, great speeds 200mbp and never dropped. Only reason we changed was it got too expensive.

i am with virgin speed is good the only problem i had was they was supposed to take over my phone line as part of the package but at the last mine they told me there was no space in the cabinet and i would have to wait till some one leaves so i ended up having phone line through bt to keep my number i am not a happy bunny over this
