I wonder what St Swithun actually did or if he is actually the patron saint of owt. The only time I ever hear of the bloke is a certain day in July when it invariably pisses it down.

I also can't believe that some people are surprised its raining saying, "but its summer"....no, it isn't. For at least half a decade now its been clear there's been a shift in seasons with regard to the weather. The new pattern seems to be:-

Dec-start of march winter (nowt changed)

Mid march-early may spring

Mid may-start of july summer

mid july-start of sept rainy season

mid sept-nov late summer/autumn

I wouldn't complain too much about it though, there's unlikely to be serious drought, and the hard done to buggers by this are the kids. Six weeks off in bloody rainy season!

Besides which from a swinging perspective sex in the rain can be a very erotic experience...
