Right I've got to get this off my chest, why on earth do people buy convertible cars then on a warm day drive around with roof up??

What's the point?

Maybe now isn't the time to admit that just 2 days after passing my driving test I drove home in my mx5 with the hood down just because the sun peaked itself through for 5 minutes

"Love my mx5 ! I have the roof down in the winter !!"

Bang the heating up on full and it's a lovely cosy little car even when it's only a few degrees above freezing . I can't express how happy I am that hubby suggested buying one for me.

I tested the f type last weekend and whilst the car was great, I preferred it with the roof up.

I've had convertibles before and think for the additional cost we don't get enough use out of them due to the uk climate

When driving with the roof down, there is an increased chance of being for littering. As any small piece of paper in the car, can quite easily get blown out of it.

For various reasons I've had to use our MX5 lately and I'll put the roof down any chance I get if only because it makes getting in and out easier. The only thing that stops me is rain.

Our mx5 was my incentive to pass my driving test. When I tried to learn 20 years ago I failed my test and then quit. Having that gorgeous little car sat on the drive was my motivation for not giving up this time. I passed my test on Thursday at the 3rd attempt and am loving driving her

Incidentally, when my father in law had a drive in her a few weeks ago he likened it to driving a go cart. Low to the ground, turns on a sixpence and heaps of fun to drive

I used to say exactly the same thing.

I bought my vw eos convertible couple of years ago

Any opportunity to take it off and I'm there

And if it getz a lil chilly

Thats what the heated seat are for lol

But with the roof down

Wind delflector up

You dont feel a thing

Its like seeing women carryin dogs in a bag or a pram i saw once...

Its a dog

Not a fashion statement

Actually been a fantasys of mine to fuck someone with the roof down

Over backseat and bout.....

Still remains incomplete to this day

Roof only goes down if it's sunny and above 16 degrees though

a quandary, could you change my mind?

I've had several convertibles, the roof was down unless below 4degrees as it would damage the skin and mechanisms, or if I was just driving to town and raining, otherwise roof off, drive quickly enough and I didn't get wet.

For those that can't understand the attraction of having the roof down unless it's a warm sunny day all I can say is that if you'd ridden a motorbike you would know why we do it

I drive a convertible, on really hot days it can sometimes be too hot to have the roof down and it turns into an oven so is more comfortable to have the roof up and air con on.

On cold sunny days it can be nice to have the roof down, wack the heaters up plus heated seat turned on and you're lovely and warm but can still enjoy the fresh air and sound of your zorst
