Correct me if I'm wrong, the killer was Laura Palmer's dad - possessed by a malevolent spirit that went on to possess Kyle MacLachlan's character when Laura Palmer's? dad was killed / killed himself and that is essentially how the original series ended?

My understanding of the series is Laura Palmer's death wasn't really key to anything really.. it was more a juxtaposition of the small town idyll against a seedy and often bizarre underbelly like much of lynches work is was basically the seemingly normal and mundane everyday skewed and subverted .

Thanks. I won't stream. I'll never Amazon anything and won't Sky want to prevent Netflix getting it?

Channel 5 re-ran it a few times over the late night weekend slots.. I'm just assuming there'd be interest from them to show the next installment as a consequence at some point, plus they're owned by Viacom now so more sway and influence in acquiring the rights to shows.

Beyond that, they'll probably be available to buy or rent in the form of a physical medium (dvd/Blu-ray).. soon after the show's finished it's run on TV.

ITV 4 or channel 5 will probably show it a few months after the initial airing on sky Atlantic. Failing that a online subscription/rental service like Netflix or Amazon instant.

Or.. other dubious streaming services.

I had to suffer as a teen LOVING this show on a weekly basis and had no one to talk to it about as no one else I knew even at college was watching it!!!!

Now it's coming back and I am shitting bricks it will happen again.

Even though it eventually broke out into wide media discussion hardly anyone watched it and it near ruined it for me as I worked out who was the killer ages before it was revealed and it was such a pisser being right and no one to say "TOLD YOU SO" to!

I really do worry such cult TV is now going to show it's age and be badly redone, one can but hope it will be as amazing as it was.
