Just wanted to share with you a great example of customer service from a guy working for wight link ferries.was coming back from the island late last night .Got to the ferry terminal just in tim e for the last ferry ,but soon found out it was delayed due to technical problems .there were about 7 of us waiting and the employee there (Richard) was very apologetic about the delay, and kept us informed what tthe time delay would be .The Costa was shut but he let us in to the seating area so we could sit down and asked us if we would like a cup of tea .came back a couple of minutes later with steaming hot cups of tea and coffee ...free, gratis and for nothing ...... how nice was that?? .I am going to be writing to his manager .(hope he doesnt get told off for giving away staff tea and coffee tho)

We are always quick to criticise, moan and groan and find fault but dont take the time to thank and acknowledge people who "go the extra mile".When it does happen to me it makes my day.Hope you do write to his manager to express your satisfaction with the service!!

I think the majority of companies have lost with there customers and don't realise that the very little things like what that guy did for you goes a long long way

I have my own business and doing the very little just like that guy gets me so much more business , it's all word of mouth and just like you being so happy with the service that you mention it to others and bingo what goes around comes around

Sadly you don't see it a lot these days.

Write a letter to the company, good customer service rarely gets noticed as people dont let companies know when someone has gone above and beyond.

That's lovely Ima and I do hope you write to Richard's place of work to pass on your thanks.

It is so easy to thank someone and praise them for good service, it's a moment in time which costs nothing, but being on the receiving end it is a bonus that lifts your spirit.

I always endeavour to express thanks and tell the recipient why I do so. xx

I deal with customers everyday, and today my manager told me that as a company we can't do this certain thing for a customer it's up to them to sort it!! Now he expects me as a lower paid employee to go out and tell the customer despite the fact we said we would just last month, that we now won't! This royal we is great as I will get it in neck off customer, so I sneakily sorted a similar but ever so slightly different outcome, my morale is the customer don't think I have done anythin out of the ordinary n if my boss finds out I will get disciplined so when ur next thinking what a twat someone is think what a twat their manager probably is pressurising that poor sod!! As the morale goes shit slides downwards, and us at the bottom get it in neck off customers and bosses
