Sing song for joy

I may not be the greatest singer but it brings me absolute joy to turn up music and belt out my favourite songs, or being part of a choir and joining the other voices to create smile-inducing noises and feel a sense of being part of something. I also like occasionally, more likely around Christmas, going to church simply for getting the opportunity to sing song to the hymns/carols. When was the last time you sang something, and what was it? If you worry that you don't sound good, singing to tunes alone is the answer! Go on, go on, go on! It's hard not to smile after you've just let loose with a song.

I'm currently singing Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now -- Starship!

I sing daily. Last time I properly belted one out was yesterday to a work colleague. He was laughing at the state of my hair when I took it out of the plaits I had pegged it up in that morning and told me I looked like Chaka Khan so I hit him with an "Iiiiiiiii'm every woman, it's all in meeeeeee". Appropriate singing.

There's a voice that keeps on calling me

Down the road, that's where I'll always be.

Every stop I make, I make a new friend,

Can't stay for long, just turn around and I'm gone again.

Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down,

Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on.

"I may not be the greatest singer but it brings me absolute joy to turn up music and belt out my favourite songs, or being part of a choir and joining the other voices to create smile-inducing noises and feel a sense of being part of something.

I'm currently singing Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now -- Starship! . And we can build this thing together, stand this stormy weather, laaaaaaaaaaa, laaaaaaaaaa sing it lady Mrs blue eyes

Let them say we're crazy!!

I am! I am! And I now have the urge to watch the film Mannequin which the song starred in! . Oooh and me, closely followed by an urge to watch dirty dancing Mrs blue eyes

I always sing She's Like the Wind when I'm on my red bicycle!!! . Tee hee, when my brother was poorly, my sister and I nursed him and we used to sing all the time to cheer him up, our favourite all three of used to sing was ' the sun will come out tomorrow' from Annie,

On the day he died, my sister and I were both with him holding his hand, it was a really dull day, we went outside after he passed and sat on the side of the road and cried, all of a sudden a big ray of sunshine came through the cloud and we both broke into a really loud rendition of ' the sun will come out tomorrow' we took a deep breath and smiled, and now if I'm ever a bit down I sing that song and it always makes me smile Mrs blue eyes

Oh! Oh what a beautiful way of remembering him. sing it today!!!. Omg, omg, I kid you not, I swear on my babies lives, I have just read your reply and I've got ' come dine with me' on the t.v, and the episode has ended with the titles rolling to ' tomorrow, tomorrow is only a day away' how weird, I'm smiling and singing right now Mrs blue eyes "

"I sing daily.

Chaka, Chaka, Chaka, Chaka Khan

Chaka Khan, Chaka Khan, Chaka Khan

Chaka Khan, let me rock you

Let me rock you, Chaka Khan!!

I also just had a flashback remembering singing at people and think I may have sung the Littlest Hobo theme at Hatter at the London social.

You did, and I loved it.

Dammit!... that's an ear worm set in for the day now

I'm sure it'll go soon enough... maybe tomorrow. "

"I sing far too much and I like my voice but I don't sing in front of other people.

Normally musical stuff though. If I put Rocky Horror, Joseph or The Lion King on I don't shut up.

Well we shall make sweet music together!

Whehey

Actually this thread set me off singing Any Dream Will Do so I might have put Joseph on...

Do it, do it, do it, do it!

Oh I am!

Because JACOB, Jacob and sons... etc.

I'm even worse when I listen to the Phantom soundtrack

I do like to belt out things like this

Red and Black Les Miserables

Les Mis did nothing for me.

However, if it is poet then how do you know it's deceased? Try the priest!

"In the car yes

I must look a right loon driving around murdering songs. But I don't care

Ah I love careoke

Let my inner Gaga out

We can do it one day

You're on "

"I unashamedly sing as I run (power walk sweating profusely) currently. Anything with a certain tempo and I sing along but right now it would have to be Disney and Rocky Horror songs. I think I may have a slight obsession.

I like your obsession! I'm not sure I could sing AND power walk, I'd be too breathless. I've got to get my fit on.

I'm considering an actual personal trainer to stop my ongoing descent into actual slugdom. "

Personal trainers make me anxious in all honesty. There are quite a few good ones around though! Even just walking more helps a lot. Music helps motivate me - I've had a wake up call and need to lose a few stones so why not combine it with learning more songs to entertain my siblings with?

Every time my earphones are in, I'll sing and even air guitar while walking down the street!

You're so right! I shall get up and dance whilst I sing the next song as a compromise!

I can do all of Shiny and You're Welcome from Moana by heart now. The monsters have fortunately moved on from Trolls for the time being.

Traffic land

I walk everywhere and always listen to music. I often forget myself and sing along and only realise when I get smirks I can only imagine what it sounds like.

I have to say I love a Les Mis sing a long. Especially Master of The House and Do You Hear The People Sing. Actually, who am I kidding, of them

Oh yes! Can't beat a Disney sing a long too.

My daughter loves Trolls at the moment so we're singing along to the sound track of that a lot just now
