A border line obsessional fascination with Tudor history which would probably worry David Starkey, a deep fondness for Star Wars (not episodes I-III) and an addiction to Master Mind and University Challenge (among other equally uncool stuff). Geek and Proud of it.

Being obsessed with reading and books, being a very firm member of the Harry Potter fandom, reading fanfics and occasionally... ahem... writing it.

Oh and superhero movies. Especially Hellboy, Tim Burton's Batman & Deadpool.

Being a huge Rocky Horror fan might count too, and musicals in general.

I collect Lego, Action Man (vintage ones and customised many), restore vintage toy cars, Star Wars figures, Transformers, amongst other old toy lines I like. I also read vintage comics (currently Eagle), reading novels (currently Rogue Justice by Geoffrey Houseman), I have loads of dvds (particularly like older films really). I Like sci fi. I'm a Dr Who fan but not a fanatic. I also like historical documentaries.

I think Mrs HM qualifies, she's into Trek, Firefly, Doctor Who pretty much anything superhero related and spends far too much time reading about quite often boring subjects! That said she's pretty normal in most other respects and is fantastic company and amazing in bed so I suppose I should let her have that

How does playing video games make you a geek exactly?

I play XB1 but I'm not a geek, my two boys who were 12 and 9 at the time got me into gaming, are they geeks too? No of course not, we just enjoy video games!

I'm a history geek. Particularly the English civil war since I grew up reenacting it. I'm a music geek, mainly metal, and I love the dc TV universe and the marvel movie universe.

If I had picked our name for this site we would have been wade and harley. But the Mr went for simplicity lol.

Because I understand that an engine, like great sex, needs a suck, a squeeze, a bang and blow.

And if that isn't enough, I can tell the difference between a Japanese twin and an English twin by sound. Can explain the advantages of both, explain how a V attempts to mimic both, why 6 in a line is better than 8 in a V for some. Why a box is better and a H is just awesome.

Why am I a geek? ' cause wrench wenches rock. Simples

I am being forced into geekdom. By my 12 year old son who drags me to Comic-cons, has me make him cosplay outfits, fills our house with geek merchandise and comic books and currently has Buffy the vampire slayer pretty much on continuous play... don't know where he gets it from cos it ain't me though my hero has always been Jarvis Cocker (swoon...)
