So, has anyone had one of these and there’s been something wrong with it? The reason why I am asking this question is, it’s because I had an upgrade last May and loved this phone it’s the 32G model in gold colour, but since having this phone the 1st 2 months it was fine, then it started dropping calls for some odd reason and when I was chatting to friends they could hear me but I could not hear them. The 1st time I took it back to the EE shop I was told you must take into Manchester as its under warranty, I never took the insurance out with EE as my bank give me free gadget ignorance, so no point, thought I was amazed at how many people were in there each time I went back with it and trust me it was several times.

The problems were mostly that their screens had gone on them, though even though people had accidental damage they were still being charged hundreds of pounds as well to have they repaired, I got to thinking well if you’re paying for accidental damage why are these people all forking out all this money?

The after my phone had a replacement mic and receiver in it I thought at last!! It might be fixed now but how wrong can you be, so it went on and on still having to pay the £49.99 a month for a phone that was unusable, the Samsung technicians kept saying the phone is passing its test but it still had the same problem. In the end I contacted ee and they gave me a brand new one, and I had the same number but had them put a new sim card in covering all the bases and you would say that’s fixed it? Nope it’s the same again dropping calls, do the same as the last one did.

I contacted ee again and said its still the same so they looked at my calls and run a test and told me that in 4 days I had dropped 97% of my calls, so we have Samsung techs that haven’t got a clue, ee’s techs that are the same. So the conclusion is that now they have said if it’s still doing it we will send you out another S7 I said what’s the point? They said we must do it this way and then we have covered all the bases and if its still doing it we might need to look at a different brand of phone. But no mentioned of all the rental I have paid that doesn’t seem to matter.

Has anyone else had the same problem?

I thought all samsungs have a two year warranty?

Mine does and it's an S7.

I'd check that first.

No issues with mine so far but then it's fairly new.

I had an S5 before and after a year that started to play up but I reset it and it worked fine afterwards.

Good luck OP

Ive not had a problem with mine apart from smashing the screen which was repaired pretty quick and was just my insurance excess to pay.

I'm rocking the s7 edge. It's had the pink-line fault (which they repaired rapidly under warranty) but other than that I've had no problems with it at all.

Pink line fault? Please explain. My S7 edge is ok but a bit annoying using it single handedly as fingers on the screen edge seem to deactivate the main touch screen.

It's happened to loads of them, a pink line down the screen develops, as though an LED has gone. Samsung aren't admitting it's their fault, but they're repairing them under warranty.

OP - If you're claiming under warranty, the responsibility for delivering the warranty remains with the shop where you bought it.

They can tell you 'take it to Manchester' but you're within your rights to stand your ground and say "No, you take it to Manchester".

If they have tried to resolve the issue and failed, and you can be certain it's not an environmental issue (are all your dropped calls around the same location?) then you have an argument under consumer law as not being 'fit for purpose'. You don't have to accept a different model if you don't want one, you can ask for your money back.
